Coco nutrients etc..

Its cheaper and easier to just germ in a wet paper towel, then plant in coco when tap root shows. I just popped three Master Kush into coco cups yesterday after 2 days germing in the towel. One is just barely showing out of the coco today. From seed to sprout in 3 days. Not too bad.

Merc, if the tap root pops up you've put the seed in upside down. Now if you don't know which is the top of the seed and which end is the bottom of the seed I'd suggest you do some research

i've been researching nonstop, the white pointy thing that pops out after it cracks is the taproot right? and that goes DOWN in the coco right? unless i missed some important detail like 6 mo ago. if i'm wrong please address bc i am a rookie but a 6 month rookie. i was so sure lol

wiki def of taproot

A taprootis an enlarged, somewhat straight to tapering plant root that grows vertically downward. It forms a center from which other roots sprout laterally.

what am i missing marco?

I have to take the seed out and cut the sponge to half to make sure top root is facing down. If not, top root will be come out upside down nd die. anyway, thank for your input dude.

"""Dude, you're putting the seed in upside-down."""

I'm assuming here that he meant tap root, not "top root". And I said if his tap root was growing towards the sun then the seed was put in the earth upside down.

It was all in humor, Bro!

what kind of rates do you get with rapid rooters bra? i was looking at the sunleaves plugs bc i've heard theyre less dense and roots move easier. really searching for the most foolproof method, sick of losing seeds and rockwool def sucks balls with coco

I actually get damn good results. Never had a prob germing seeds. Poke hole in top place seed in pointy end down maybe 1/2" or so keep slightly moist and your off to the races. Peace! Usually 100% rate

If you can get rapid rooter plugs, germ the seed directly in the plug just keep it moist under humidity dome. Just plain ph'ed tap water is what I like to use keep the plugs kinda moist and spongy squeeze out any excess water, under the dome you shouldn't have to wet them for a least a day or two, just make sure you don't over water them slightly moist is good. Once they break surface you can leave the dome on for couple more days just make sure you have a little air flowing around them. In a few days you should have roots coming out of the plug. At this time is when I transplant to 8oz-12oz cups also give them 4 grams gallon maxibloom also 1/2tsp gallon calmag. After one week I give full strength maxibloom 7 grams per gallon and 1/4-1/2 tsp calmag depending on if I use ro or tap water.

maxibloom powder ya mean? thats it? how long you been doing that? easy on the wallet?

Using maxibloom for about a year now first in soil now coco. To me personally coco is so much easier and hassle free. I never have any deficiencies my plant are always healthy and strong. I'm in the final weeks of my current grow. I'm running strawberry diesel, grape romulan,LVPK,sr71 purple kush, chemd and cash. Maxibloom is very easy on the wallet $13 2.2lb bag.

how's maxi bloom on Cal and mg? or do you add epsom or calmag. i have Bot calmag plus on hand. i tried doing the 5 5 5( in ml) mic, blm, cm plus to precharge but the ppm was over 700 which i thought might be high so i dialed it back some to 4 4 4 and i got 450. seems more reasonable for seedlings, but i could be wrong and prob am as usual lol. trial and error right......

I use bot calmag also. The maxibloom has enough calmag I've found to be most sufficient I only add calmag when I see i'ts needed or when I use RO water. When I use tap very seldom use it. I weigh my maxibloom, at full strentgh I give 7grams a gallon, I feed my seedlings for the first week or so with half that before upping. I use canacoco, don't pre-charge or rinse just plant and water it's good out the bag. When I water my seedlings though I do like to add calmag I guess that's me pre-charging as I'm going, never had a calmag issue going this route. If your skeptical try not using any ferts for the first week then gradually introduce your ferts after first week. I found if you make it through the first week it's down hill from there.

I just use one gallon containers and my plants still top off around 3-5 feet when done depending on strain. GrapeRom is a beast it will grow and stretch like none else followed by the ChemD. I run a 600hps with a xxl magnum hood which I like because it's a huge hood covers 4x4 area perfect. I can let my plants get within 6-8in with no probs.

yeah i was looking at the charts and i should be fine, especially with Big Bud which dosent get real tall anyway. may need some wisdom on the best approach to jerryrig the weight of this strain. this is weedss thread so i'll link you to my grow log....
