I have only been using coco for maybe a month and change and can already tell you the two mistakes you made.

1.nute burning them with watering once every 2 days If you are handwatering you should either water every day with a lil run off. Or water it 3-4 times a day in small amounts. But you need to water coco everyday.

not entirely so. depends a lot on POT size also.

but MOST of the time COCO is great off with getting watered every 2 days - IF the pot is not getting dry.

however - ONE must must get to know the hydric needs of ones plants - not all want the same...

still i wonder what nutes u used and at what strength to get them burned.

2.with full strigth PBP With coco and nutes, less is more. Dont feed them in regular doses as you would soil. Coco has a much higher absorption rate than soil and nutes go right to the roots. So no need to feed em heavy since all that goodness is sucked up ASAP

full strength nutes is almsot never necesary in coco - max around 75 % for really nute hungry plants. BIG plants though - might need up to 90 % strength.

I use botanicare coco and canna A & B nutes. I dont use a PH meter, i dont check EC and i dont measure PPM. I let my tap water sit for 24 hours , mix nutes up in a 1 gallon jug ( i use 10-15ML of foodper gallon of water tops) and dont have any lockout or deficiencies. Just big healthy plants by handwatering and using a small amount of nutes. It aint that hard bro, stick with it

i sugest u get a PH meter since that will greatly improve the control of the medium and feeding. and its a fun toy :D the need of a ph meter and ec meter depends a lot on your tap water quality - places with bad water (like here where i live) it is necesary to mix the tap water 50% with distilled water.

but i agree,
checking EC and PPM is not necesary with Canna nutes. as long as u go after cannas feeding schedules, there will be no harm.

but really more ppl should give a shot to big coco pots and lesser feedings - the plants love to have root space :D

peace all

Did go larger into 5gals and still getting used to the watering /fert methods....also settling on how much perlite i want in the medium . Can see where watering every 2 days in the beginning (when in 1gals ) is the way to go ..or as Bone Carver mentioned go according to the "hydric" demands of the plant . I know i have been overwatering a bit in the early stages & need to hold off a little bit more letting that wet/dry cycle encourage more root reaching

* these Hindu Kush/Sknks were pretty charged during Veg with FN grow formula then fed on FN Bloom for a couple of weeks . Just settling down into flower now @ 3' and r/o water had built up a bit & was measuring around 1100 so gave them a rinse with very dillute400ppm ph water . Trouble i see with larger pots is setting up a drip system that seems to require at least two drippers per/5gals ....and thats alot of spaghetti ;o(

Seems with Canna nutes about 800/1000 is just about right ....i'll get them down to 800 again in this early stage then let it drift back up into "high flower" boyz ! ;o)

Well, looks like you got it all figured out by the time I showed up. It's looking like your doing much better. I'm back in coco now, and used PBP for a couple years in aero, nft and buckets, but when I moved to coco, I was having probs with the PBP and switched over to coco specific nutrients.

I'm running 8" cubes of Botanicare BOSS blocks into full flower, and a couple are in 6" blocks, and while the 6" plants are a little smaller then the 8" block plants, all get watered every other day, and are very dry by the time they get watered. I think basically you just need to run a slightly lower EC if you water when dry.

Good luck with it all.

I gotta second running the CNS @ 1/4 strength, which if i am correct is around 10ml a gallon.

Im a new CNS convert myself and I love it after switching from the entire pure blend line, now i just run cns and LK and it works just fine, plants are super healthy and happy.

25 bux a gallon is the best gamble i seem to have taken yet.
