I read TGT saying temps are an issue with vertical.

Going vert has allowed me to snug my ladies right up to the cool tube. Heat rises, so the best place to vent heat is up,...that, in my opinion is one of the two main advantages to Vertical light orientation. That and exposing as much of the cola to as much light as possible.

stke, I can't take credit for those. The last couple are Blind date's.

I was just demonstrating the power of trees. I misunderstood what you were talking about.

The first pic was GDP and pulled around 1lb per plant. A lot of the other ones are from the infamous Krusty and his KFB system (search titles for "KFB" for more info) and he would pull 3lb's a plant. He had a very well laidout program/plan. I think it was 10 plants in a 20x20 room with humidifiers, dehumidifiers, AC and Co2 at 1500ppm with 4 weeks of veg. 4 weeks of veg seem to be the standard to grow a tree large enough to pull at least a pound. The system is great for medical because you keep your plant count really low.

You can find many "tree" grows on this site via the search function.

Peace and nice grow btw.

im not talking about have the plants on like a wall type vertical..what i meant is most people that grow tree's with vertical lighting just let them grow tall, my question was if anyone that uses vertical lighting has done lst?

or will you just be better off letting them grow straight up?

my AC handles my lights (8k)

the way the bulbs are right now the center of the bulb falls in the middle of every 4 buckets (20 buckets 8 lights) im thinking on going vertical lighting next round.. hanging the bulbs in the same place but vertical it will fall in the center of 4 buckets..

Research the "KFB" method, its a good start to how to lay things out.

If growing trees, you're going to have to reduce your plant count, not that you probably mind :D

vertical lighting how i explained wont be a good idea with the 20 buckets? laid out like this basically

i was even thinking on adding another row of lights right down the middle but i dont think having lights that close is not a good idea vertical :nono:

EDIT: the room is 10x16 and as is im using it all

This is how Krusty laid out a 20x20 room I believe.

The 10x10 room went like this:

O = lights
X = plants

O X O
X O X
O X O

The O in the middle is a 1k and the corner lights are 600's.

He would pull up to 3lbs a plant.

I imagine you could pull 1/4-1/2 lb with your setup, but your going to need to "backpop" the middle of the room because they wont be getting light.

hey wormslayer,
are those shelves right over the plants? looks like those plants are about the blow up and hit that shelf!
good luck!

well if i went to go vertical i would be adding a row right down the middle but i think thats a bit to much no? as far as using the 600's i would hate to have to go and buy all new equipment :bashhead:

Yeah the middle shelves are stacked above each other - the plan is to top them and grow the branches out either side.

Modelling grow-rooms is the most fun I've had in ages - If only there was a market for this skill :p
