Yes

Sure you can clone a autoflower plant but you just get a medium size plant and wee tiny size plant. Because a true autoflower cannot go back into veg it is going to get roots and then continue to flower.

cool. Thanks for the help. It just dawned on me how you breed them. Non-auto mom/dad + auto mom/dad = auto seeds!! i couldn't figure out how you get a huge garden sog style without having to pay $$$ for (x) amount of seeds. Imagine starting like 200 or 400 to fill your garden. OUCH!!! BUt i guess, if you have a good mom and dad you can polinate a few plants and get all the seeds you can need. Correct? it seems right to me. Has anybody tried cloning/breeding with auto flowering plants? i would like to try them out, just a test run with maybe 20 or so plants under 1000w hps to see the results while i also run my regular strain side by side(actually different room)
thanks again everybody!!!!
damn i love this site, starting to bring back memories of overgrow......
:thank you:

Yes

Because a true autoflower cannot go back into veg it is going to get roots and then continue to flower.

I would argue with this statement. They can be cloned, autoflowering is a chemical response other than light to flowering, how do you know what is triggering the response? Are you sure it is pinpointed in the cloning? There is a TON of misinformation, because not many people clone autoflowers. Hell, for years people argued their tits off, that is was physically impossible to begin with....

Ive cloned a true AF.. You can see the result in my albums or in my growthread in this forum..
It filled up a 1,5liter container with roots and yielded 11 grams.

Sum up; It works.. But its not worth the effort.

Stay safe!

thanks for the info. i was juist wondering instead of buying many seeds to support lets say 100 plants, if you can just clone them quickly after they start sprouting and growing, you can avoid all the expense, maybe even consistently cutting clones while flowering so in essence it would be sort of a perpetual garden. anyways, just an idea. thanks for the info

You can get a perpetual going w/ regular seeds to start with, some small CFL's and a couple of small boxes for the rooting and veg stages with a separate flowering chamber, of course. You could also do both root and veg in one box, but you don't really want strong light on rooting clones from what I have read, so I use one 13 watt (whatever is laying around, color doesn't matter) for clones and a 105 watt 6500K for the veg box, which is like 30" tall x 14" x 14". I take cuttings late in flower, make monster clones, veg them a bit and then move them into the flowering spot. If you have plants in all stages at once, well there you go. Then it becomes a matter of understanding your phenotype's and their individual timing so you don't screw yourself with space issues like I seem to do over and over again. BTW, the cutting box is maybe 10"x11"x6". Real small, but plenty big if you use mini solo cups and coir or whatever.
