Thanks, vostok. Interesting subtitutes for rooting hormone. Actually have some of that on hand already. The honey is surprising, but find the willow tree tea particularly interesting.

We used some long fresh cut logs of Australian willow trees as flower bed borders once. After just laying on the surface of the dirt for a couple of days I was surprised to find a series of 4 or 5" shoots rising along the highest point on the log about 6 inches in between. Amazed at how it was sprouting I picked it up to check it out and pulled out a series of roots about 6 inches long and also about 6 inches apart but staggered with the sprouts above. Was before the days of cell phone cameras, but now wish I would have rounded up a camera and taken photos.

Willows must have some awesome hormones at work inside them. Will have to do some googling and see what is involved in making the tea.

nice dh,thnx for spreading the info. good stuff.i use use 2tlbs,perlite,in bottom of 8oz cup,2tlbs mg soil on top ,poke hole in cup,poke hole 1 inch deep,water and plant,put on dome,take and mist dome daily first four days,after that a put a sponge in a cup of water under dome,cuz i cud not be around for next 10 days to open the dome and spray it..all rooted nicely....great thread peace moon/
