wow this would be great for ppl who are restricted to the number of plants they can have...for example if they could only have 6 plants...1 mother and 5 in flower...they could get their 5 new clones ready to be clipped and go into flower as soon as the first 5 were harvested...

..very nice this could save ppl a few weeks clone/veg time when numbers are limited.

excellent bump :D

I'm going to be trying this on a branch of two of my outdoor plants as I'm having trouble with clones flowering immediately, this should be perfect to get a good sized clone that won't flower until it's supposed to.

Split rootriot with clingfilm/saran wrap and a splash of clonex.

Average 10 days to show roots and cut off at 14 , over fifty done with few losses.

Grafting a female top onto a male rootstock is the difficult one and no luck so far .....
Sweet I've always wanted to try the air layer method because for me I can grow one or two big ass bushy mother plants. Then air layer clone about 40 nice bushy branches. That way my veg time is cut down from 2 weeks to maybe a couple of days to just to let the roots get bigger. Also can I assume that they will suffer no stress like when taking clones the normal way since the air layer method never cuts the branch off the plant?

It took about a month, but I have successfully air-layered my first branch! I don't think my rooting hormone was any good, which i think is why it took so long..

I'll have to check her today, but I think she'll be fine. The roots are growing really fast, so I think she'll be able to sustain herself.

Hey huey, just a thought, it may have took so long because you picked such a low branch. Next time try a higher branch , a branch that has some top light and not so shaded. I too sometimes have slow results with cloneing any lower branches. There just not as vigor.

Good to know thanks. I choose that branch because I figured it would be one of the lowest yielding branches of the plant. I did notice that the growth of the branch was drastically reduced compared to it's opposing branch which is about twice as big, but I guess thats to be expected since it's focusing its growth else where.

Im with u on taking the branches that seem useless other then for cuts. If not for a cut, then the garbage. I prune alot.

But sometimes the lowers just dont wanna root for me. No auxins or whichever may effect there viability. I honestly dont even take them for cuts anymore. they usually dont survive for me. But thats me.
