clones wont adapt 2 sun

i put out clones pretty well rooted in 1/2 gallon milk, 1/2 n 1/2, juice containers. i'm a guerrilla grower and can take a few out at a time for transplant. for seedlings i use quart cardboard containers that are same height/depth but less diameter. they are ususally 8" to 18" tall and well rooted. the root system when i plant is buried down (bottom of root ball) almost 12". 3" rootball outdoors doesn't have enough depth imo.

i get leaf drop when i transplant with strong sun. i defoliate most of the fan leaves leaving stems and stalk and some green. no leaf drop, large (100% this year) % survivors.

it slows down the growth but gives the plant lots of time to adjust w/o having to support the leaves until the girl is established. then they take off and do their thing.

i use the cardboard container as a top moisute barrier covered with soil and then field collected mulch. after watering the transplant i use my foot to press down the soil. the pressed soil eliminates most plants from being dug up and locks in the moisture barriers.

my theory on fresh transplants being dug up is possums, rats, etc. sense the soft freshly dug soil and dig down for a nice meal of some young nest critter baby food.

anyhow, i've got over 50 plants done this way this year and am still putting out the last and not one has died.

ya what i do is.. 2 1000w bulbs 1 hps 1 mh.. 10-20 inches away from my outdoor plants for 2 weeks at the exact same time as outdoors lights come on at sunrise.. off at sunset.. and usually i wont have much if any light bleaching when they go out.. but the main thing ive noticed.. the bigger the pot they are in before going outside.. and the more roots they have.. the better chance at survival !

clones will take time to adapt..dont let them go direct to sunlight..put them in shade for a few hours a day or on a window ledge n sure enough they will do well when going straight outdoors--n as for the droop..is normal as they are used to a specific environment i.e in domes or a controled environment..but slowly place n adapt them --hope that helps

yea that helps , your style is the opposite of mine /

ive found if you go fast enough and use the maximum amount of light possible they never get weak enough to need to be adapted to full sun .
thanks berry ..i assume you mean stonger wattage hps/mh bulbs..if so i hope i can test it out for myself n test this theory ..atm i a led guy with low heat n decent enough for vegging in the off season.
