I love the tiny moms combined with the Blumats in such small pots. Really cool.
Are those the normal sized Blumats or the Bonsai version?

Yeah lack of space means you have to get creative hahaha
They're regular tropf blumats. Feels terrible to jam them in there but after a day the plants seem to have forgotten each time.
I only grow for myself these days and I thought it would be terrible if space restrictions killed my wish to keep some moms of plants I have smoked and liked.

I see.

So you have the moms growing in their pots for a while already before you put the Blumats in?

Having a variety of genetics you like as moms is definitely a good thing.

No I put them in when I planted the rooted clones in these little pots. You can also add them later, you will tear a few roots but they'll be fine.

Here's a pic of my exhaust fan/ carbon scrubber combo.
I've changed the installation from being inside the flower chamber and the fan pulling through the scrubber and blowing out to the fan sucking the air outside the smaller veg chamber, blowing through the scrubber.
This may be a bit unorthodox, but it doesn't make sense to pull bone dry air through the veg/ seedling chambers into the flower chamber when you can go the other way around, thereby giving the flowring plants dry air and pulling that same air which takes up moisture from the flower chamber and then goes through the veg chambers.
The path of the air is:
In through the top of the flower chamber (there is of course a light trap) - on to the veg and seedling chamber (through one vent port each- out the bottom of the veg chamber

My little lodge 100 tent sits on a wooden board and wheels so I can move it around to wherever it's not in the way.

A few more bits about my set up...
You've seen my scrubber fan combo now here's my reservoir it sits atop the tent. It holds about 30l/8gal

Oh yes and not to forget here's a thai x panama which will be harvested by the time you read this
DSC00002.JPG

took around 80 days and maybe could have gone longer but I got amber trichs so decided to harvest

Smoke report for Panama Haze and Thai x Panama re coming!
I've grown and smoked both before (remember I'm keeping moms of both) but, in hindsight, made a few mistakes or could have done better so hopefully this time it'll be right.
I recall that both strains were not racy or paranoid but rather mentally clear and calming while at the same time pretty energetic. Sleeping was not an option with both hahaha.

Have smoked the Panama Haze now but it needs a bit of a cure first. The high ist still a bit "confused"as I've found with many sativas which are still very fresh/ shortly after harvest.
The little cut of my Kendal Green was showing roots yesterday, that's 12 days. Not bad for my cloning style, which isn't anything at all hahaha-

Straight into Allmix and I've prepared the hole with great white.

Kendal Green is a cross between a Qleaner male and an F13 lady. It has more flavor than F13 while it retains the blissful F13 high. Very social and active weed with no ceiling.

Here's the "tech" in my tiny veg compartment.
Four Philips SILs (13w/1520lm each) some computer fans blowing air around and a hygrometer strapped to a pole.
Once a SIL grower always a SIL grower:cool:
They are still the cheapest and almost best way to sufficiently light a small area. Also, they never break, these here I've had for years and they're still going.

Finally harvested the thai x panama.
I've found a really nice setting to dry my plants at rh60% at cold temps, but since my plants are never full-size (because of the lack of space) they never take the 12-14days commercial growers mostly state for their drying time. I find mine are at 60% after 7-8 days
DSC00003.JPG

Once they have reached around 60% and they can't add enough humidity into to the drying tent to kick off the hygrometer that controls the exhaust fan, I put them in a box until the rh fully stabilises.
I do this as a sort of extended drying...to slow the process down as much as possible.
Once the rh is stable the buds are trimmed and go into jars with hygrometers in them to check on rh.

Here's a quick update from me...
Been growing some California Indica from Sensi. Didn't have time to do a grow report, but here they are at chop.
DSC00001.JPG

The one on the right is a bit more branchy but overall quite uniform, especially in the smells dept.
A lot the big fanleaves were yellowed out and are gone by now.

DSC00002.JPG

DSC00003.JPG

This is day 54 of flower btw.
Aromas are fruity, zesty, with hash tones.
This was a weird grow as I was battling the stupid aphids from the last round once again. They must have survived in the original soil amendments used in both grows.
I used GreenHouse bio feed, which I found easy to use but do you think maybe I used too much? looking at the leaves they look almost burnt but the big fan leaves are all dropped already. Maybe it's the aphids that made the plants do weird stuff, I have a feeling this is not the full potential.
The root aphids are now under control after two grows and countless measures against them. Used Beauvaria Bassiana fungus spores in the end and no flyers for now.
Anyways, I'm breaking everything down as this is just my drying tent normally and breaking out the Secret Jardin Lodge again.
New pots new soil etc of course...and then more recently acquired equipment to control VPD, a new light new fans and a fogger (30%rh here in winter).
New seeds will be popped as well!
See you soon

Looking good despite the circumstances, she looks like she starved a bit, but can totally be caused by the aphids, if they chew too much on the roots...still looks like a nice harvest is about to come for Christmas!

Exactly that's what I was hoping for. A nice, chill indica for the festivities!
When I start the next round it will be without those fuckers, end even if I do get them again (very unlikely as I'm exchanging virtually all equipment) I now have something that keeps them at bay. Was just a little late for this round, hence they look a bit bruised and battered.

Back shortly

Thanks Brickweeder!
Lastly a sign of life from me
I've now gathered all the gear for the next run and by gear I mean the seeds as well as mostly new equipment!
This time I'll be trying to automate as much as possible. Not just the watering using Blumats but also temp, airflow, rh and of course VPD.
To do this and to try out the amazing new stuff that's available today I have gone with AC Infinity stuff (light, fan, oscillating fan and humidifier )and all of it is connected and communicates with a digital controller to keep parameters stable.
I have bought all of this shit myself so nothing sponsored or supported here whatsoever.
If the stuff works I'll give them credit, if not I'll publicly tear it apart I'm afraid.
They seem to be focusing a lot on marketing and lots of fancy words, let's see if the products can match that.
I will be using
  • Secret Jardin Lodge 100 (that's my old one!)
  • AC Inf s22 ion board light 115w
  • AC Inf cloudline pro T4 100mm fan (348m3/h)
  • AC Inf refillable 100mm carbon scrubber (357m3/h)
  • AC Inf controller 69 pro
  • AC inf cloudforge T3 humidifier (4,5L res)
  • AC Inf cloudline oscillating fan
  • 2x Caluma 3000k 18w led tubes( side lighting in bloom chamber)
  • 2x Caluma 5000k 18w led tubes ( veg compartment)
  • Sunblaster 20w tube (Mums/ Seedling compartment)
  • 4x 25L/ 5gal smartpots
  • BioBizz Lightmix
  • Dr Forest nutes (Veg, Bloom, Micros& GrowKashi)
  • Blumats all the way with a 20L res sitting on top of the tent
Here, I took some pictures for you:
OV Gear.jpg

Here are some more pics of the Dr Forest nutes which I quite like
DSC00001.JPG

DSC00002.JPG

And these are the seeds I'll be popping.
I'll have 4 plants flowering in the 60cmX60cm flower compartment
  • 2x Afghan Lemon fem (Khalifa)
  • 1x Aladdin's Skunk fem (freebie from Khalifa)
  • 1x Oaxaca X A5 Haze (ACE)
DSC00003.JPG

Putting the seeds in water tonight and will set up the tent and all over the next days!
Wooohoooo

Hey mate,

✌️

How about a smoke report!? :)
Ay caramba you are absolutely right Sir!
The ThaiX Panama I harvested ist very strange smoke. First of all it's a real creeper, you will not feel much for the first 5-10 minutes after smoking, I am not kidding you it really takes a looong time to feel something. Then it starts building like taking drugs orally and it's straight rocket fuel for a short while and then a devastating body& mind stone that's incapacitating. The up part is almost unsettling, like you've smoked too much. Well maybe that's the creeper high... not sure... I tend to smoke and smoke and then BAM I'm so high it's borderline trippy. The stoned phase is also too much, I man not able to function when I've smoked on it.
The taste is francincense and floral for lack of a better description. It smokes smoothly but the up and down rollercoaster mon dieu. Maybe I let it go too long and that's why the extreme stone ruins you at the end...majority of trichs was amber when I harvested as far as I can recall..
It's pretty wild smoke I have to say and not for everyday, at least not for me.
It's jarred now and I thought maybe a good 2 year cure will take the tension out hahaha.
I have almost finished the big jar of Panama Haze in the meantime but only dared a few sessions with the Thai X Panama!

Hi guys a quick update while the seeds are sprouting (hopefully).
Thought I'd give you a quick update on my set up and how it's coming together.

Let's start with the tent, a SJ Lodge 100. I love those and the ability to have three separate compartments in one compact tent. From their website it looks like they are discountinuing the lodge series which would really be a shame as their tents have some features that put them high above all others in my world.
Untitled.jpg

Flower compartment on the left obviously and on the right side I'll have seedlings/ moms/ cuttings on the top and veg at the bottom

One of the SJ features I like best are the ports and how you can decide where you want the holes to go yourself. Plus the fact that each port comes with a light baffle that's 100% light proof which I like a lot.
I had a homebox once that has a good system to keep light in/out but how everyone is coping with the velcro flappy flap and mesh netting is beyond me really.
The way it works with the ports is you clip these little frames in the corner where you want the hole and then you use a handle like cutter to cut the fabric using the frame as a guide. Works perfectly every time
DSC00006.JPG

DSC00007.JPG

And once all is in place and the fabric is cut you push in the baffles which also act as a prefilter
DSC00001 2.JPG
DSC00008.JPG

I have put two intakes at the bottom of the flower compartment and then two connections over to the lower and top compartment and lastly one exhaust port which goes through the roof of the seedling compartment. The exhaust fan and carbon filter are on top of the tent so I have more space inside, connected to the exhaust by a short piece of sonodec.
DSC00010.JPG

Although the AC Inf fan looks like many other models of similar making I'm looking forward to trying it out. I have very high standards in terms of how quiet a fan is and have always used high quality fans with high quality trafos/dimmers that don't hum and allow me to have a virtually silent tent.
The first downside already is that they have riveted the mount to the fan, which means you can't take it off. Pretty unpractical but Let's see how it does.
The filter left me with a very good impression, especially that it can be refilled and a little bag of coal is already included. If that works, it's a game changer, but I'm still skeptical as they say it works even without needing a compactor/ vibrating thingy that you would normally need to really pack the coal into the case. It also comes with two pre-filters which is really cool.

Last but not least I will be putting the tent on wheels again so I can move it around my little apartment if it gets in the way. The electrical stuff will be done so there's only one plug/ one socket needed to run the thing and it's mobile

The first seedling is already showing.
It's the Oaxaca X A5 Haze from ACE.
The skunks from Khalifa seeds are not breaking through yet.
DSC00001.JPG

Finally got around to more or less finish the tent
DSC00004.JPG

The fabric pots are 25L each, the most of which I could fit in 4 separate ones.
It will get pretty tight at ground level once their filled with soil, so I need to make sure that my intakes are not affected but I'll deal with that once we're there.

Here's the AC inf ionboard light
DSC00003.JPG

Not sure about this one... it seems a little weak for the 60x60cm space.
Then again 115w is not a lot... I have two 18w 3000k bars with UV and IR as supplemental lighting in the flower chamber, that should be enough overall. Also I'm not sure just how good there new Osram diodes are, maybe it is indeed enough light and that would be great as I'd like to use as little electricity as possible.

Here's the finished ventilation setup, the reservoir and the 69pro controller
DSC00005.JPG

Pretty boring stuff, It'll get more exciting soon...:)
