Slayer asked me to put a smoke report for the CCF he grew here, but its been a while since I smoked it so this is just based on what I remember....
smell: 10/10
taste: 10/10
high: 10/10
bag appeal: 10/10
I remember being told about the CCF and how you could fully smell cherries, the high came in waves that lasted hours, how the smoke went down smooth and the taste when exhaling was nothing short of devine....I wasn't disapointed
When I saw the sachel the buds were in I could barely believe my eyes. There was no leaf and the buds were smothered in resin. I hadn't seen buds that well manicured in ages and the resin glistened like little diamonds in the light. I opened the sachel to have a smell and was almost overcome by a smell of cherries, skunks and an almost non-existant undertone of petrol. The smell was so intense that after I had a single sniff I couldn't help myself and decided I needed to try it then and there so I put a bud in my bowl. I thought to myself that I should get a drink so before chopping up I went to the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of soft drink and I was stopped dead in my tracks when I walked back into the hallway. The smell from the one lone nug I put in the bowl had stunk out my loungeroom, filled up my hallway and was heading towards the kitchen. My whole house was beginning to smell fantastic at that point, but when I walked back into the loungeroom I had to do a double take and sniff the air for a minute or so because the smell was so intense. I really can't put into words how strong this stuff smells. All I know is that after my first cone the odour increased so much that I ended up getting paranoid about the smell to the point I had to close all my windows and doors which as you can imagine just made things worse lol
The first cone of it I packed was pretty small for me, but I'm glad I went for a small cone as the smoke expanded in my lungs a fair amount. It wasn't like a double barrel shotgun to the lungs like you can sometimes get, but it expanded considerably and was very gentle about doing so. It seemed impossible seeing how much smoke came out of me from such a small cone, but the one thing I noticed most while exhaling was the taste. The taste was nothing short of amazing. It had the typical skunky taste as well as the petrol type taste you get from overly resinous strains, but the cherries came out in full force overwhelming almost every other taste. I got a simular taste as it was going down, but while exhaling the taste intensified 10 fold. I really can't do this strain justice using words, it really is something you must experience if you consider yourself anything more than the average joe smoker as it will change your life.
The high was immediate, well so I thought. I remember thinking waves my arse, this is just good old fashion one hit shit and as I was packing up the bong to have my second hit I was overcome by a wave of stonedness that was very upbeat, euphoric and had zero couch lock to it. I was left there holding a packed cone, drooling a little and thinking about the high for a few minutes until my missus asked if I was going to smoke that or not. I decided that if a single cone can hit me like that, 2 would be tops so I stupidly smoked it. Why was it stupid? For starters the second cone hit immediately like the first getting me super smashed like I would get from edibles, then the second wave from the first cone hit around the same time as the first from the second cone. I ended up being highly energetic, but so out of it that I could barely move. I was couchlocked from being too high and ended up watching some tv shows for the next few hours while wave after wave kept kicking in. It felt like every 15 minutes or so a new wave would come rolling in and regardless of how much my tolerance was trying to hold it back my brain just kept getting flooded. It was honestly simular to shrooms or acid with the way it kicked. It started with a little wave that got bigger as time went on with ever decreasing gaps between waves until it got to the point where the high peaked. From there the waves got smaller and the gaps larger, but the come down was very gentle and left me feeling fantastic instead of having the whole drugged out indica come down feeling.
Since that first try the CCF has become my favourite smoke. I have tried between 50 and 100 top strains over the years and the CCF to me is about as close as to perfection you can get. The smell, taste and high are second to none and while it might take a little longer to finish flowering than most strains, you can see from slayer's pics that its yield makes up for the extra time. If you decide to grow CCF it will forever have a place in your grow room and suicide will seem like a valid option if you lose the strain forever....that might seem crazy, but it really is that good.
Well I hope thats what you were after slayer, but should it not be complete enough I'm more than happy to sample some more so I can give a detailed report while smoking it
),,, pity its not a better pic,, rock solid buds all the way down to the soil,,, I'll be lucky to get a handful of popcorn. At a guess I'm thinking a cpl more wks to go.
