Right on. I wait till wk 6 when the big fan leaves are yellow and most of the nutrients are absorbed from them. They are just dead and blocking any side branch top buds from getting full light. I just went around and pulled all the dead yellow fans last night.
I have a couple 9 wk strains that are yellowing out the fans already so I fed them 1x.
I have 1 ??? x DJShortsTrueBlueberry thats a 10 -11 week strain, that I have to feed a couple times until harvest cuz its starting to fade at week 6.
I let the plant tell me when to feed it.
I dont feed them until wk 5. The soil has everything it needs till then. The smells and taste have improved dramatically just using FFOF soil and ph'd water.
At wk 5 I give them FF's - 1tsp Grow Big, 1tsp TigerBloom, and 1tbl Big Bloom. Thats it.
I used to use the whole line of Additives. I dont even need them. They just muck up the taste and make it harder to flush at the end.
The way I do it now, the plants start yellowing off 3 -5 weeks before harvest, naturally.
I only have to flush them for 10 days (3x's) and there yellow as can be.
The 8 wk GrapeOG's are starting to naturally fade so its time to flush those now until harvy. Their still pretty dark.
I hope I dont come off as telling you what to do brother. Im just shootin' the breeze with ya. Your a great grower. Keep up the good work.

My CJ's are just starting to get a stronger, sweet, meaty smell to them. Things that make you go HHmmmm?
Im a Fruity -Skunky -Afghani type strain guy... soooo....Its tough for anything to beat the ChemicalBlue in the smell department for me.

How come you PH the water for the flush period? I know it can be crap shoot of opinions.
1 side says the plant needs the nutrients to really be all it can be. The other side says it gets it from the leaves.
Others say to Flush 1x with unPH'ed water and then PH'ed water only for 2 weeks. Another will say flush 1x with PH'ed water, then water only with unPH'ed water.
Im wondering if you've found it better, in the smoothness of smoke dept, doing it the way you do?

My tap water takes 21-23 drops of down to get it at 6.3. LOL! Stupid high EC tap water. So, I give them tap water at an extremly high ph, over 10, so they cant absorb any nutrients from the soil and are forced to suck the leaves dry.
If I give them Cal-Mag+ it will burn them. LOL. Im in the country too! My best friend lives in the hood, in the inner city, and his tap water is near perfect. 2 drops of down is all he needs.

yeah overgrow,,,,
my tap water comes out at 7.0,,so I little over 5ml of ph down takes it to a nice 6.3/6.4,,,
i believe if using "commercial" organics like canna pro mix,,bio bizz all mix,,i think its prudent to ph the water,,,have a look at mandala mikes thread re feeding the above..
i feel if your making your own organic mix then ph wouldn't be such an issue and yes og,,mine taste as good at the bottom or end of the spliff as it does at the start ,,clean as a whistle and no heavy head or slow start the next day,,,smoke it all night and still wake up frsh as a daisy mm

my chemmys all trimmed and drying now,,,8 days before there touched,,,
trimmers started at 10am and finished at 8pm,,,,stinks lol,

one of my trimmers forgot to take his gloves off before clean up,,so bye-bye at least 2 grams of lovely finger hash,,,
I was a tad pissed off,,,,,s2

Oh no. I would be upset too. Thats the only part of trimmin thats fun. The finger hash when your all done.
You had 2 grams of FH on your gloves though? I betcha it was some tasty meaty hash.
The smells on my plants are getting stronger now. A sweet meat smell.
Your plants look like my longer flowering pheno that is top cola dom. I used that cut to X with the male Blueberry x SweetTooth. Looking forward to germin' those beans!

I have one pheno that I kept a cut of that is tall, med branching, long hard buds, and has a sweet meaty smell that isnt too meaty. Im liking her more now that they are close to done. Im gonna run about 10 plants of her next grow in a SOG.

I have an accidental X of StrawberryDogshit x Fuel that smells and looks fantastic, but I couldnt get the cuts to root. Sooooo sad. I love this plant, but Ill never see her again, unless I can reveg her.
Ive never had success with revegging a plant yet, so, its a longshot.

Smoking on some Chemmy right now. Abit too meaty for my taste though.
Its enjoyable smoke, dont get me wrong, but I like the fruity strains.
