@ starwatcher...damn I wish I had all of the phenos...I ordered a ten pack last year non fems and the day after we got them into cups his house burnt down, the roof collapsed onto the tent they were in and it snowed on top of the pile for a day or so...when we could finally get into the house, I got to the tent to try to salvage the bad boy T5 and there were 2 CVK's still alive (insulated by the tent, roof, and fresh snow..keep in mind I live in Michigan and this was Feb)...I was able to save them and both were females...They were either the same pheno or really close...both were excellent, one plant grew a little better than the other due to salted water...only one of them was cloned however///both chemy, not prone to mold, no lemon tho...Have I not got the true chems yet? I dont taste any lemon in them...I dont like lemon and love chems, OG's, Diesels nut never taste the lemon people use in the descriptions..

Looking good.

I've grown out CVK and ******s OG both of which didn't have any phenos with lemon in them. Actually I only found one keeper pheno from 30 beans of CC gear which was a CVK that didn't come out like OG or Chem D but rather the Afghani that swerve used prior with the SFV OG. They were all watered down versions of the clone, lacking smell and flavor, potency was there though. There definitely is lemon OG's though, I've smoked them, although the Abusive OG cut I have doesn't have much lemon, there is a hint.

@ starwatcher- Thats a pretty accurate analogy.... except the fan leaves don't just produce energy, they also store it and respire out of the stomata's located on the bottom of the leaf as well....I realize this, that's why I don't take them ALL...I have experimented in the past and found that they dont take much of a hit stress wise, and it doesnt seem to stunt them, and the leaves I leave..lol..grow into big more productive leaves..stay tuned, in 2 weeks you wont really be able to tell what I've done, they will just look like well groomed plants...and most importantly makes your bottom buds look more like top buds as far as quality and developement, thus increasing yields...to each his own, but I like to pull alot of them off.

Been reading up on that 'Defoliation: High-Yield Technique?' thread. Makes sense now what you're doing. I decided to try someting similar with 1 or 2 of my gals and see what happens. The results speak for themselves in that thread, so it's definitely got my attention. Good luck bro I'll be watching.

I've gave them fungus dominant ACT twice now...I mixed in my usual Humboldt additives and H&G aqua flakes to the equal part water the first application, (4 gals that I'm going to add to my 4 gals of ACT) and it burned a couple of the more sensitive strains a little bit on the tips of the leaves...watered today with the second ACT today and didn't use the aqua flakes... and added 2 tsp of Big Up powder to the solution.

which one is stronger??? between the Big Up and and the Aqua Flakes? the aqua flakes is a base line nutrient and the Big Up is just an additive....p/k boost really...so... not real sure what the question means...hope that helps..

Or did you mean which strain is stronger? The CVK is super potent and chemmy...I love it, This is my first time growing out these Pink Tahoe's so to be honest, I dont know yet...If the Pink Tahoe smokes half as good as she should.....just going to have to wait on this one..

Sorry, I meant which strain do you think is stronger. They both look so good, cant decide which one Im going to get.

they are both really freakin awesome....I would recommend either...or both...Im after the Buddha Tahoe now...this Tahoe is actually a cross of the Pink CM and the Tahoe ( which is only half origianl tahoe og (buddha tahoe) its buddha tahoe x sfv og) so I can get closer to the original.....so the plant I have labeled Tahoe is more correctly 25% Buddha Tahoe, 25% SFV OG, and 50% Pink Critical Mass

My ACT went bad on me I think. I don't know for sure but wanted to err on the side of caution. It started to smell like apple cider vinegar on the third day, anybody know exactly what that means? Did it go anaerobic on me? I kept it aerated the whole brewing cycle.

I found most of my compost teas can't be left brewing passed day 2 or else it goes anaerobic. I believe that is the smell of dieing organisms. Brew it for a day or two and then hit it. Your soil should have enough nutes to carry them at least 40 days as well. Good luck!

Thats what Im figuring out...I've been brewing them about two days lately with great results...I did figure out what went wrong with the first one tho...I put too much molasses in it, which caused it to ferment and smell like vinegar (dropping the ph significantly...vinegar is an acid)...I could've cut it with RO water until the PH was appropriate, and still used it, but I threw it out anyway.

I never messed with the pH on my compost teas and or guano teas. Just let it do it thing. How much molasses were you using per gallon?

The batch that fermented on me had about 2 TBSP per gallon...I've since cut it back to 1 tsp per gallon (I omit the molasses in the fungus dominant tea) with great results.

i am learning more and more about organic soils and teas.

i want a easy tea for flowering and an easy tea for vegging...

any ideas? i have some fax farms jumpstart dry mix. they said two cups to five gallons of water. but i have yet to try it....are teas better than bottled organic nutes, such as roots orgnic line?

Shit yeah...way better...nothing in a bottle can compare to the power of ACT's, because the bottle is anaerobic environment. No bottle can contain aerobic bacteria because its sealed up and not being aerated. When you brew the tea you are growing the number of bacteria/fungus (microbes) up to 10,000 the original amount you started with...and the aerobic bacteria's are the ones you want, anaerobic's are far more dangerous and likely to contain something that will harm your plants. So, that being said, you want to use an Aerated tea as asap after taking the air out..it can go anaerobic on you in 4-6hours..and then you got a batch of poison..

Anyways on to the recipe..I've been using these simple recipes and I', getting great results..(although a little bit of burn on the tips from the MICROBES eating up the nutes sitting in the media and hitting them with a huge dose all at once..if I would have been using ACT's the whole time I wouldnt have had this problem, however I've just recently found out about them)

these are all per gallon...scale up or down as necessary.

VEG: 1 tsp Molasses (un-sulphered), 1/2 cup EWC, 1/2 cup alaskan humus, 1 tsp rolled oats, 1 tsp kelp meal, 1 tsp alfalfa meal, 1 tsp bio marine.... bubble for two days at grow room temp....strain and mix 1:1 with RO water and root drench...cut with another 50% RO water and foliar

Bacteria Dominant bloom: 1 tsp Molasses (Un-sulphured), 1/2 cup EWC, 1/2 cup alaskan humus, 1 tbsp rolled oats (powdered), 1 tsp kelp meal, and 1 tbsp alfalfa meal, 1/4 tsp rock phosphate, 1 tsp fossil fuel

Fungus Dominant bloom (for use about halp way through flowering): use the same amounts as the bacteria tea except use 150% on all the grains.... mix your grains (kelp, oats, and alfalfa) with your microbe source (EWC and Alaskan humus) and make into a mud...cover (poke holes through the cover), and put it on a heating pad for 3-7 days to grow a mycelium....put that in your brewer (bucket) and add more grains and rock phosphate...bubble for 24 hours, strain, cut with RO water at 1:1, and use as root drench

I'm new with act'S AND DONT PRETEND TO BE AN EXPERT....just trying to help..Ive found this very beneficial for my own garden.

Alright folks, small update here: I think the Pink Tahoe #8, may be the keeper. The next time I update the pics (thursday), I will start adding the pics of the PT#8 as well as the PT#7....I'm looking for the most Tahoe dominant of the seedlings, and based on flower structure, trichome production, and smell ( looking for that pungent cali kush aroma), I think the #8 is going to be the keeper. Stay tuned..good shit to come. Peace.Pot.MicroDot.
