real nice looking shots there, nice even canopy. looks like a pretty good yield for a 6 inch pot, how tall was she when you flipped and what kinda smells are you getting?

looking amazing grit!! yummy i would love to grow out a chem someday
how do ppl like you and beancounter get such big plants out of tiny pots???
is it the coco?? mine were screaming to get out of 1 gallon pots once they got a lil big.
MysterX- i was plannin on choppin close to day 60 so i may have started to flush a bit soon for 65-70 days. im on day 61 and the fans are goin fast. all trichs are cloudy with just a few going amber. gotta clear the room too so she's goin down tomorrow....hope she's good!
inline6- thanks bro. i really try to get the tops nice n even. more tops n less popcorn is the way to go. she was about 12" tall when flipped and i thought she would stretch more than she did by the look of her in veg. I don't like tall lanky plants so i am very pleased how she turned out. the smell is not strong... with a rub of some resin i'm gettin a chemmy/lemon smell which very unique. it's a nice smell but not too strong... can't wait to tast it!
FMCDomer- thanks a lot man. yeah it's all cana coco. there may be a chunk of perlite here n there from when i was mixin some other stuff. the pot is a 6" but it holds closer to a half gallon of medium pretty sure. as far as weight goes i'm not sure what to expect just cause some plants loose a shitload of mass when dried and some hold it pretty well. so far this one looks to be pretty dense and not very airy at all so i'd guess 1.5 oz. she was grown in one square foot under 1k hps alongside the other stuff in the room. she was in that pot for at least 10 weeks. i don't know if the small pot hurt the yeild at all... gonna try a 2 gallon pot next time so i can see the difference.
stretch- what's up bro.. lookin good man! more watts will do that for sure. how long are you plannin on going? i am noticing them swelling still and densing up here late like mysterx said.. maybe ill go longer next time. coco rocks for sure great lookin plant! ..thanks!
BorisTheBlaze- thanks a lot man. in hydro pot sizes can be smaller in just about any medium.. i water twice a day so the roots get what they need. plants don't seem to get root bound in hydro...not exactly sure why. i'm gonna run bigger pots next time to see if they do better. thanks!
looks like you gave em a proper prune and got a lot of the flarf off from the bottom as well, the tops look to be rewarding....hehe
@hydro not gettin rootbound in coco can be explained by the fact that the plants root system does not have to compete for nutrients or oxygen within the medium unlike soil where the oxygen is limited and after the plant grows a bit the roots have to fight with the soil for food and air......also in soil the plant has to seek out the food vs hydro where the food is easily available and delievered right to plants door so to speak....
also, i tend to find that in hydro the plant focuses more on plant mass vs root mass......dont get me wrong, i got some root balls from my dwc that are fuckin monster but when i stack coco to soil it looks to me as though the plant is still trying to grow more roots during all phases in soil vs the coco which it looks like it slows down dramatically after being flipped......dunnno, just some experience i've had with it...
55 tonight forty, and I'm taking down everything else staggered around the chems.. I may hit 70... do it up proper with some take-down pictures if you have the time, would ya?
thanks somoz... nice explano on the hydo shit.. sounds good to me roots don't need to go far when din-din is served up delivery style... "i'll have the n-p-k combo... super size the p please and i'll take a large sea kelp shake plz... yes, i'll be eating that meal in my 6" pot to go, thanks" ...heh heh.
hey stretch.. i forgot my cam at work when i did the trimmin but i took a few pics of the dried nugs... this is the only one that came out in focus.. damn cam.. i was loaded but i doubt that had anything do with the other pics comin out fuzzy
Jdogg.. i thing the cd 4 is a medium feeder.. almost light feeder. she needs much less nutes than the urkles and bubba which were close to using the same amount of nutes...in my set up anyway.
forty grit what type of nute's do you use?
I was also wondering what type set up se 6" pots & not get root bound???
thanks keep the diesel's & chem's alive
my chemD x ECSD @ 2 months
hi buickman.. i use floranova nutes in a top feed set up.. the fn works very well for me. i did grow the chem4 plants in 6" pots but i'm gonna use 2gal pots next time. they didn't seem to have any probs in the 6" pots but i wan't to see if they do better in bigger pots. that pic of the roots is not the chem 4 that's in this thread.. it is a cd4 but it's a plant in veg and it's in a mix of coco/hydroton and will get put in a bigger pot before flowering.
good luck on you plants bro.. they look great.. keep up the good work
Howdy Homie , all trichs clowdy with a few amber sounds good enough, for me anyway, although for pain a lil more amber is nice. So did they get a bit denser? At 77 days i can imagine there was alot of amber, have you puffed on her yet? Bro My 2 Abusives and 2 ECSD are in 6" pots, they sem to be doing ok but like you i wanna try bigger pots next time. Lookin; forward to a report, oh and do you have any Bubba in flower at the moment? Fine job my brotha!!
Hey im 90 % goin skatin today, Glendale/Verdugo, 2 bucks to get in , rated the best vert park in LA County and their open till 10 PM with lights, wish me luck!
ps. I just clipped an early nug of the Abusive, shes 90 % clowdy with a couple amber. Ill let ya know.
forty grit those roots are beautiful. I'm liking floranova more and more after seeing some great grows with it. keep up the good work. the #4 looks very tasty. Do you use mychor or add bennies to the roots as well?
