The Chem 4 is definitely good. For sure i would consider it to be A LOT better than most 'elites'. The flowering time is a bit long, but it makes up for it in yield.
Ive only smoked one batch of it, and it must not have been dried/cured properly cause it had a very faint chem/pine smell, and almost had a bit of hay to it.
However my friend has one right now at about 8-9weeks flower, and it just reeks of lemony/chemy pine skunk. it truley smells amazing.
So i will have to see how this batch smokes compared to the last time i tried the 4... But regardless, i would definitely consider her to be worth a run if you can acquire a cut.

we shall see here is my chem4 and she is starting to reek at about 30 days flower
estimating thc percentage is easy and a waste of time.
here you go
place 2 grams in a vaporizer and get really f'd up.
If your vaporizer works correctly it will not burn your leaves and or calyx.
Give used amount about one day to cool off.
Then take 1 minus (after use weight divided before use weight). This will give you a safe estimate of chemical percentage.
If you're really dorky you can take multiple samples of the same strain and determine a safe confidence interval for your chemical percentage.

rest assured chem 4 is good! if you have a chance to grow it you must do it, it will answer your questions no doubt.
chem 4, for me is a challenge to grow cuz it demands so much attention but my system and style is less than optimal so..... it is always the first in the gyarden to dry out, it is always the first to show signs of stress when things go wrong, when things go wrong the chem 4 goes down hill the fastest and usually doesn't recover very easily and when its bad, its reeeeally bad with her. i think spicoli said it best about her when she grows bad, "hay".
But, here are a few pics of my latest harvest of her and she is dyyyaaannk.....smells like sour chem kush with hints of peppery flowers and is ROCK HARD!!!! i think a MAJOR key to her success is letting her go more than 75 days and keeping her healthy during the last few weeks.
cant wait to smoke this one. 88 days here.

I have never ran her past 65 and she puts you out like a light! Can you post a couple pics of that for me? I would appreciate it greatly man, and make sure to tell me how you like her!

so when 'they' say 25% thc it's all about the percentage of active ingrediants? how is that measured? what's in the other 75%? i've often disputed these percentage claims in the past but maybe it was out of ignorance because i just can't see any meaningful tests around that can bring such results.
btw, chem d is my fave...

not sure about rating strains by the thc content ..
to me it seems a bit like rating alcohol by % and assuming the higher the alcohol content , the better the drink ..
we know thats not so , personal preference etc know better ..

im sorry to hear that jenn... Were they raw cuts that just didnt make it?? orrrr whats the deal... Sure is a bummer to lose such great cuts
