CHEAP SEEDS

In the last months I've been growing some female seeds that were sold (and given as freebies) by a Spanish company called Eurogrow. They sell through their web anything related with cannabis cultivation.

At the beginning I was a little suspicius, but after some months I have to say that their seeds, ranging from 1 euro and 1.8 euro each, seem to be as good as the seeds sold by the classical commercial seedbanks like Dinafem, since they probably use the same "breeding" method: STS over well known cuts.

I've heard that there are more companies that sell these cheap seeds, but I only have experience with this one. This has been an opportunity to test some American strains in a easy and cheap way. All of the seeds I've grown are good, I haven't found any hermie and the weed is very good, stinky and resinous.

Will this be the end of the STS rippers? I grew some DINAFEM's at the same time, about 10 euro each seed, and I found mutants and hermies.

Now, I would pay that much money only and just for something really special that standard ripper banks don't provide. I would pay for a real breeding work.

But I have much more fun with these cheap seeds.

Have you got some experience with something similar?

A couple of Bruce Banners getting close to 6 weeks. I've got some plants from different strains just to test. I'm specially interested in the AK-47 and Bubblegum. If they are close to what I had in the 90s, I'll do a selection to have a keeper. They were better than any modern stuff.

I just checked the website, which is all in spanish and apparantly no other language :(
I´ve never heard of seeds selling that cheap elsewhere before now, lol. Lucky you ;)

You're right, I've just realized about that. If you under "semillas feminizadas" (feminised seeds) and then you look under "semillas a granel" or "semillas a 1 euro" (meaning "seeds in bulk" and "seeds for 1 euro") you can get a list of strains.

thanks, I just had a peek. I must say, that place has a very large selection to choose from ! I´m curious if it´s under `bulk´ then how many seeds do you need to buy to get to such a low price?

Last year I did grow from them 1 chocolope, 1 jack herer, 1 critical xxl auto, 1 bubblegum and 2 seeds of super silver haze, all of them was quality vigorous plants, no hermies, no one problem with them, the high of the chocolope and jack herer was ok, nothing special, the critical and bubblegum are better, but both ssh have an amazing high, i really apreciate my ssh stash

1 EUR is well... you can´t get a better offer than that. For anyone else interested, they have critical widow, cream cookies and gorilla glue4 for 1 EUR

My local shop is selling bulk fem seeds for 2€/seed, some go for 2,5€/seed. So far they are performing as expected from any other reputable seedbank selling commercial varieties(heard it from other growers) which is actually not surprising at all, imho.
Most seeds have a high price because of the brand(seedbank) and reputation(variety a.k.a. strain). There are also some true breeders who sell seeds for a mid price point and I'm always happy to pay the price and support their work and passion. But some will never see my money or me growing their seeds.
Live and learn.
(P.S. - one of the best things in life is to make your own cannabis seeds and share them all over the world)

Cheers

I'm pessimistic of a site like Eurogrow. So many strains. I cut my teeth as a programmer so being suspicious comes natural.

I bought last years from a fairly small seller which also appears to be the breeder. The selction is rather small when compared to some others but a fairly neat one. Prices are fairly reasonable as well I guess.
I´m afraid I´ve been terribly burned when I ordered from a spanish company once.:(
I used to order from c-bay or the doc but I can´t anymore since Brexit :( SHAME!!!

I was pessimistic too, but the strains I've grown and smoked were as nice as these from Sweet Seeds, Dinafem and others. They offer many strains with no value for me (I already have some real cuts from the 90s, and I hate some of the others, like Critical+), but I believe some of them are worth trying.

Just 1 and you get a freebie seed of your choice! €3,75 for next day delivery (not sure about international delivery though). I quite enjoy growing single plants of these things but for a more serious grow I prefer to support a serious breeder.

something tells me that they don´t do international, otherwise their site would also be in other languages - english at least. ;)

If you find a serious breeder, let me know. 99% of seeds are made crossing old elite cuts, and that is NOT breeding

How do you know the genetics are real?. Anyone can attach a name to seeds. At those prices, id have serious questions.

I do not do that. There are others as well.

I don't know the genetics are real, but the same thing happens with any seedbank. You can't know without a genetic analysis, anything else is an assumption. I just grow it and make conclusions. But for my experience, I believe these people probably own the same cuts as the official companies. Once you have the cuts, that genetic is for free, you don't need to pay anything for it. If Sweet Seeds, Dinafem, whatever, any of these companies they were buying 20 cents per seed to the producers and selling them for 10 euro, then happened that now somebody can pay 20 cents to the producers and sell the seed for one or two euros and the machine still works.

I'd love to see an original breeding work, other than the usual based in the plants from the 90s we've been growing for years. I'm sorry to say that I don't know any of your work, but I'm open to new ideas.

That's not true. Most of us send our packs sealed with tamper proof tags to seed banks.

Anyone can make there own original breeding work starting with other seeds. Everyone starts with seeds made by someone. Just because we used them doesn't mean we didn't work the end results.

This statement is false. "But the same thing happens with any seedbank. You can't know without a genetic analysis, anything else is an assumption"

We are not talking about DNA of the genetics any breeder uses to work with. We are talking about what a customer buys from a seedbank.. Most want to know if the seeds bought are from the breeder it says they're from. Anyone that grows my gear knows they are getting legit seeds when the pack is sealed and has a taper proof tag. Even if someone tried to fake my packs with a tamper proof tag. Mine has a scratch off that has a code under it that you input on the website that lets customers know the yare real. Most breeders today do the same. If you are getting seeds, not in the original breeder packs unsealed you have no clue what you are getting.
