Cheap nutes for better plants?

Hi, im currently undergoing my first grow. My soil is 40qts of a 50/50 mix of Miracle Grow and Expert Soil, with 16qts of Perlite, some handfulls of Vercumlite and some DomoliteLime(sp).

I really want to encourage good roots and overall have very nice plants. I was curious as to what off the shelf nutes that suppliers such as Lowes would have, that would benefit my garden? I noticed they had some, both for vegitative and flowering stages, however I cant remember the names of the products to do a search on here for them.

Have you tried them, how are they? Please don't recomend ordering expensive nutes; we have too many packages coming here anyway. Plus, we've already spent like $400 on this grow.

Its quite alright, I do realize everyone has their own system of growing. Im just trying to develop my own.

I'll see what others say, and i'll read up more on their product suggestions.

Thanks ;)

Hey I used miracle grow on my last grow and it worked really well because it is so high in Nitrogen. But I switched to a organic fertilizer when the flowering started. I roots were really strong and the plant looked awesome!!! Hope this helps

Thanks, anyone else have anything to add?

How soon is too soon to add any sort of additive? I should wait atleast a week or two correct? And at this early of a stage, I should use a really dilluted solution?

If your coyts are still green, it's too soon. Wait until the coyts begin yellowing before starting weak nutes.

If you're going to use any chemicals remember 33.3% of reccomended dosage is about tops for mary J.pETERS BRAND says to use 1tbs/gal. So 1tsp/gal is what you're shooting for...and not until plants are established!! I have had excellent results on young plants with low npk fish..2-1-2 start-up.During veg.Fert every 3rd watering and flowering fert every other watering.Weeks 3-7 of flowering seem to be the most critical bud time..boost applications in small increments. It takes about a week to show results of you're last fert. application..so watch those leaf tips and edges for burning.

Isn't this the Organic Soil forum? If your using MG and chemical nutes....forget about organics. The herd won't live.

Cheers,
