I would go with 2 x 9-15 W for more surface. 18w in a single place is a bit much and makes your lighting less efficient, cause u need to keep it further away. Than will take care of 1-2 handfulls of seedlings for a few weeks.

thinking bout a 100w led floodlight, closet is pretty small so it will fit ideally. are there any base guidelines on the distance between plants and lamps? and if so where could i find those, reading some contradictory stuff

Again, I would go with 2 x 50W rather than 1 x 100. But even the 100W one will do, but probably you will have to keep it over 50 cm away. I mostly used 20W ones and they were great and could be kept at 15-20 cm away no problem. One of those would have enaugh power for at least 4 seedlings up to week 3. So.. depending on how many seedling u plan on growing.. maybe 2 of 20-25W would be enaugh? Make sure they are real power and not some kind of equivalent with less real wattage. Also, I would go with brand ones if possible. At most, you would need a mains plug, a knife and a flat screw screwdriver to install a mains plug on the wire they come with.

Good advice.

Multiple small units are better than one single big one. Cheaper, easily swappable, less waste heat generated, and better coverage/penetration. I have a little veg/mums space with 2 small LED floodlights, bolted onto a rough diy wooden frame, with a 4 gang extension stuck onto it with gripfill. Cost bugger all.

How about this light? Par38, 20W. It might be suitable for 3 babies.

The domestic lamp is managing 110 lumens per watt. This puts it in the low end of the market, where the globe part is a real hindrance due to manufacturing costs. With the globe lopped off, you can expect around 150 lm/w

The flood panels use smart cobs. 80-100 lm/w

This means two of the 18w lamps will equal a single 50w flood.

Just one 18w is ample. Look in the local adds for an old angle poise.

I've used Screw in LED's, got 2 big panels with 70 or 100 lights.

They work good, light-wise.

Last time I grew indoors, maybe 2020 ?, the mites took over and there were no lady-bugs available at the store.

Lack of natural predators for spider mites I think is one of the biggest problems with growing indoors, but not in-solve-able.

I recommend buying Safer's CONCENTRATE, then mixing up Dunk Tanks.

Dunk the whole plant.

If you buy the Safer's spray bottle it's only good for minor infestations.
