Cheap co2 Generator

Guest

I'm using a 10kbtu natural gas room heater that cost me under $100 including pipe fittings.
It produces about 10 cubic feet of carbon dioxide per hour.
only drawback for some people is that it has to stay on all the time. fortunately you can put it on low and leave it if you want...

fuck CAP, fuck GREENAIR, fuck BLUE OX, fuck everyone else who sells the same shit for 23x what it costs to make

:moon:

just thought i'd let you know there are alternatives to the normal overpriced hydro store gear

here's an example of what i'm talking about: http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US/jsearch/product.jsp?pn=100385743

Wouldn't the infrared emitted be bad for your plants? How do you plan on regulating the output to prevent toxic levels of CO2, or otherwise controlling the output?

Selling things 23x what it costs to make... Take into consideration the design, support, warranty, distribution, marketing, operations, etc costs, not to mention making some money for your efforts. It's a business.

Fuck cap and greenair huh? You're a funny guy,but you really dont understand how co2 works.Just pumping it into the room does absolutely nothing, its no good to the plants at all.The idea is to keep a constant high PPMs with little fluctuations, they suggest no more fluctuation than 300 PPM.I've used a green air cd-6 and cyclestat timer for years, but it wasnt until I got my cap that I saw the real benefits of co2.Good luck with your burner my friend.

hey c-town... i've run as high as 4/5000ppm in a sealed room with no ill effects(from my cd-3). i actally use this heater for multiple rooms so its not in a room, just in a common area where the co2 is vented in... it stays around 2000ppm with this setup for about 2,000 sqft. i know about the theory that too much co2 will actually make plants do the opposite of what they should but i haven't really seen it with 4kppm rooms. furthermore, if i was to use an infrared heater in a room, i'd just point it at a concrete wall or cinder block to absorb the heat and keep it from lighting the room at night

ballast man, sorry, but you are mistaken... you are sayin that without a fuzzy logic controller your plants will not use co2 at all? they are out to seperate growers from their money, and you are the perfect customer

how the fuck do you expect me to pay for your multiple $10 whores otherwise? FUCK

the only thing funny is that this fuckin co2 won't benefit my plants without this damn $500 controller. fuckin science teacher lied to me

all chuckles aside you do need some way to control the CO2 emitted. u dont need a monitor or meter but u do need a regulator or else you will not know how much CO2 is being put out. this could be potentially dangerous to you and bad for your plants.

that is true... i check on it from time to time with those little glass tube testers. truthfully i'm more worried about having an incorrect flame and getting carbon monoxide buildup.
i should say that this setup is not recommended for smalltime growers... or people who would share living space with the co2 enriched areas.
