The Daishonin states, "Iron, when heated in the flames and pounded, becomes a fine sword."* Youth, now is the time to train yourselves in order to become strong. Muster up your courage, take on each challenge that confronts you now, and establish the solid foundations for a truly victorious life!

"Making it possible for someone to receive the Gohonzon is an act of the greatest good. Let’s do our utmost to actualise such good, which is an unfailing source of strength. Nichiren Daishonin explains that the Gohonzon is 'a cluster of blessings' (WND-1, 832). When we chant and spread Nam-myoho-renge-kyo based on faith in the Gohonzon, our life itself turns into a 'cluster of blessings.' The good fortune and benefit we derive through our Buddhist practice also extends to encompass our family, our community, and society at large."

"No life is without problems. No life is without hardships. You often find that people who excel in their field tend to rack their brains harder to solve problems and put in more hard work and effort than others, even when no one else is watching.

"Practising the Daishonin’s Buddhism fundamentally enables us to remain undefeated by any of life’s problems or hardships.

"I recall my mentor, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda, encouraging some of his sincere disciples from Chubu: 'It is important that we resolutely triumph over devilish functions that cause unhappiness and misery. Faith in the Daishonin’s Buddhism enables us not only to overcome various trials but, with each successive victory, to build a foundation for unshakable happiness in life. We gain the capacity to help many more people become happy. And, as a result, all can accumulate eternal good fortune and benefit.'"

Let's support all of our young people who are really challenging themselves to do their best. It's important that we take action together with them, talk with them, and praise the efforts that they make. Once they have that self-confidence, it will definitely become their strength.

"We mustn’t let ourselves grow old inside. The Daishonin assures us that, through faith in the Mystic Law, we will grow younger and our good fortune will accumulate (cf. WND-1, 464).

"Becoming ever more youthful with each year of Buddhist practice—this is the vibrant spirit of SGI members."

I just wanted to share this with you all.

We can decide to make a difference every day! We can decide to change our attitude to a positive one! Life is supposed to be a party! Surrender to what is and do everything you can to change your reality the way you want it to be! Teach others to do the same! That is what happiness is :) Show it with your own life!
We will all be dead soon, don't live your life wasting it! You and the universe are ONE and not two! Think how difficult it must have been for the universe to create everything we see today! Then how would it to be impossible to create the reality you want? But you must have faith in yourself, that is to say to have faith in the mystic law and take action based on that faith! :) Nam-Moyho-renge-Kyo :tiphat:

"Regard your service to your lord as the practice of the Lotus Sutra. This is what is meant by 'No worldly affairs of life or work are ever contrary to the true reality.'"

I can see my Brother has been chanting abundant Daimoku!!! Brothers and Sisters, another friend has entered the room. Let us greet him from afar showing him the same respect as we would a Budda!* (Because he is!) Good to see you again DB!

Warmly bowing in humble obeisance!

"No matter if he is a demon or an animal, if someone proclaims even a single verse or phrase of the Lotus Sutra, you must respect him as you would the Buddha. This is what the sutra means when it says, “You should rise and greet him from afar, showing him the same respect you would a Buddha.” You should respect one another as Shakyamuni and Many Treasures did at the ceremony in the “Treasure Tower” chapter." "Kosen-rufu is an eternal struggle. Nichiren Daishonin declared valiantly: ‘But still I am not discouraged’ (WND-1, 748). He continued his struggle to share the correct teachings of Buddhism with others, undaunted by persecution after persecution. That’s the spirit of the Daishonin and the Soka Gakkai.

"Many of our members began practising this faith striving earnestly to become happy in the face of desperate circumstances, dealing with illness, family strife, and life’s countless problems.

"The only way to overcome all our problems and build a state of indestructible happiness is by practising for oneself and others. As the Daishonin writes: ‘You must not only persevere yourself; you must also teach others’ (WND-1, 386). While studying Buddhism and chanting earnestly, we also need to dedicate ourselves to sharing the teaching with others, keeping the torch of propagation burning brightly.

"It is because the Soka Gakkai and our members have done just that that so many members have acquired great benefits and demonstrated actual proof of genuine appiness."

"If in a single moment of life we exhaust the pains and trials of millions of kalpas, then instant after instant there will arise in us the three Buddha bodies with which we are eternally endowed. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is just such a 'diligent' practice."

"Nichiren Daishonin states: 'The varied sufferings that all living beings undergo—all these are Nichiren’s own sufferings' (OTT, 138). Inheriting this spirit of great compassion, it’s crucial that we begin building from within our communities an era that lauds humanity."
