Forest what does that mean? Who is Niche? Do you mean Nietzsche?

PB, sorry to read your post, but how could that be true? There is no SGI-USA leadership on this thread other than me... Are you discussing the thread with someone and they told you not to continue posting? You mentioned to me how much you loathe Tariq Hassan, but he is a not member of this thread? Um, how did you cause concern among the leadership - since you made it a public issue now? I'm very curious to hear a little elaboration on such a dubious post....

Hey friends,

I participate everyday in SGI related activities and feel great about it. I don't know what's up with the slander that came out today, but the truth is that the SGI has helped all the American members on this thread procure their Gohonzon and also supports our daily practice. The SGI is an extension of Shoten-zenjin and I really don't give a fuck if someone has a problem with another person's opinion because opinions are like assholes and everyone's got one. However, I do have a problem if people are trying to sabotage or encumber our movement aimed at world peace.

United we stand, divided we fall and nothing will defeat our Chanting Growers movement, especially not some random posts against the very fabric of worldwide kosen-rufu. I strongly urge those who posted comments against the SGI to elaborate further and make their positions clear so we could all understand what's really afoot.

I'll be chanting for a positive outcome and for clarity on this issue. Where's Tom? These issues have clearly been the work of the devil of the sixth heaven and will be overcome with abundant daimoku. I know better now than to give into the slanderous way of thinking that plagues us before our Buddhist practice and resolve to use this feeling to empower me to practice more ferociously going forward.

Until PB came here to post on the thread we clearly distinguished our writings from those of Nichiren Daishonin and perhaps the fact that PB would mix his understanding and opinion with excerpts from Nichiren's Writings made some people feel uncomfortable in his area. Hey PB, did you tell people you posting here and they told you not to do it because they didn't read the last 840+ pages of this thread? Please let me know, I would appreciate any type of response including a pm.

Very truly yours,
MyohoDisco

"Dialogue" is the very life-blood of kosen-rufu! To the extent to which we chant and take action for the sake of kosen-rufu is the extent to which we will doubly be able to spread justice and accumulate enormous good fortune! Let's boldly and fearlessly go out and share our philosophy with as many people as possible!

"When we think of people in terms of abstract groups, categories, or numbers, we lose sight of the reality of human beings. The foundation of true humanism is found in thoroughly engaging one-on-one with each individual."

"For instance, there are certain Hinayana bodhisattvas, not yet freed from delusion, who draw evil karma to themselves by their own compassionate vow. If they see that their father and mother have fallen into hell and are suffering greatly, they will deliberately create the appropriate karma in hopes that they too may fall into hell and share in and take their suffering upon themselves. Thus suffering is a joy to them."

"All efforts exerted for kosen-rufu bear fruit as good fortune that will adorn you forever. Having striven so arduously for kosen-rufu, you'll be born with a strong and healthy body in your next existence. The great victory of happiness awaits those who have courageously struggled. That's how the Buddhist law of cause and effect operates."

The sutra reads, "Hoping to make all persons equal to me, without any distinction between us." This means that those who believe in and practice the Lotus Sutra are equal to Shakyamuni Buddha.

Fundamental attribution error

Fundamental attribution error

Everyday example

You are walking up to a cashier at the grocery store to check out when a man with two children cuts directly in front of you, arriving to pay the cashier before you. You are likely to grumble and think "What an incredible jerk!" Your default assumption is that the person is ill-mannered. You do not realize that the man did not even see you as his attention was largely focused on keeping his two children with him and moving to the cashier. Thus, your dispositional attribution for his behavior was, in this instance, incorrect. The man simply did not see you as his attention was focused on his children.

How could someone practice Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism without the Gohonzon or support from the SGI?

This isn't the type of Buddhism that requires you to go into hiding on a mountain... or give up all your worldly possessions.... or anything detrimental to your life. I still don't understand what PB and Forest really intended to say with their posts. I can definitely understand compassionately what Wilson is going through and has gone through, but I don't ask anyone for permission to shakubuku. Sometimes we don't want to participate in groups because of so many reasons, but other times we have to challenge the group to participate with us for our well being. This practice is totally dynamic and if you're not chanting and keeping your life condition as high as possible then say byebye to your courageous nature and hello hellish life conditions. Buddhism is truly a win or lose struggle.

Remember to always protect that Bodhisattva that you are, protect each other and protect your heart's desire. If someone isn't brave enough to do kosen-rufu, then I'm sorry to say that you may not attain Buddhahood in this lifetime. Nichiren teaches us to live with the fierce determination of General Stone Tiger and to never give up. In addition, we must refute slander and protect the correct teaching. We follow The Law of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and not any other inferior teaching! We alleviate the suffering and serve as heroes in our respective worlds because we chant this one great phrase that pays. What else can I say besides there is no way our dreams cannot come true if we work with the Gohonzon on achieving them.

Thanks for giving me something else to chant about in regards to the thread (one of the biggest causes and commitments in my life), turning this issue into more rocket fuel for the thread is what I'll do in my Sanctuary as I chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo to the Gohonzon (Three Treasures). Indeed, everytime I do gongyo I do an extra three Nam Myoho Renge Kyo to have Gohonzon in my life for the rest of this life and the next. With that said, let me know how I can help if help is needed!

I walked away from my SGI leadership position because I follow couragous leaders only and rarely. I follow Nichiren and the Gohonzon. Any other "guidance" is an opinion. If it doesn't focus on winning through diamoku then it just someones idea.

People are what they do, not what they say.

cheers.

:tiphat: Spoken like a man who should be in elected office!

Thank you for that Wilson!

PB! Change your screen name and come back in on the sly! Don't tell SGI members that you're posting. Chill for awhile on doing the Gosho stuff, so it isn't obvious, and keep hanging Brother! We have much appreciation for you! And admiration!

Figure out a way to stay in our lives. Respect their rules. Be discreet.

But don't leave us hanging after getting us hooked!

Please chant abundant Daimoku before you make a final decision!

Much love and deepest respect,

Thomas

YOU may now be faced with a situation in which, because of various problems and obstacles, you are unable to advance as you wish. However, your present painstaking efforts definitely ensure that you will experience great development in the future.

EVEN though people may polish their face, they tend to neglect to polish their lives. While they quietly wash off a stain from their face, they remain unconcerned about stains in their lives.

THROUGH the power of faith, and based on the Buddhist principle that “earthly desires are enlightenment”, we can transform all our problems and sufferings into happiness and joy. Also by “substituting faith for wisdom”, our faith functions as the ultimate source of wisdom. The stronger our faith, the richer the wisdom that comes to govern our actions. This is how true people of faith strive to live.

A Buddhist must have a spirit as indomitable as a wall of solid rock. Weakness is malign and injurious to our cause. We must have a spirit as strong as steel and the heart of a lion. Indomitable faith and unflagging courage give us the capacity to embrace others with limitless warmth and compassion. True kindness to others must always be backed by inner strength.

SOCIETY is moving forward day by day, and it is a constant challenge to keep up with the pace of change. Apathy is the path to defeat. The bureaucratic mentality that tends to take root in organizations is the source of all evils.

I hear that these priests have been slandering me for some years now. These
mosquitoes and gadflies, as it were, are such fools that they groundlessly
revile Nichiren, who is like the lion king, when they have neither listened to
nor seen him.

Suppose there is a ship that sails on the open sea. Though the ship is stoutly
built, if it is flooded by a leak, those on the ship are sure to drown together.
Though the embankment between rice fields is firm, if there is an ant hole in
it, then surely in the long run, it will not remain full of water. Bail the
seawater of slander and disbelief out of the ship of your life, and solidify the
embankments of your faith.
