The life of a person who refuses to accept defeat
will always shine brilliantly in the end.
In the midst of enduring
the constant daily challenges of life,
a life of true fulfilment can definitely be found.
Continue steadfastly on your chosen path!

Let’s always be thinking:
“What is it that I can do
to help make people feel
happy and at ease?”
And then let’s chant everyday,
from the depths of our being,
towards realising it.
Let’s become “leaders”
who are trustworthy and sincere
and who are forever brimming with humanity!

I'll be out of the country for three days on business. Don't think I'm gone. I hope someone posts again soon!

Good men, the scriptures expounded by the thus come one are all for the purpose of saving and emancipating living beings.

Because living beings have different natures, different desires, different actions, and different ways of thinking and making distinctions, and because I want to enable them to put down good roots, I employ a variety of causes and conditions, similes, parables, and phrases and preach different doctrines. This, a buddha’s work, I have never for a moment neglected.

“The Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (1904–73) wrote: ‘In the midst of my struggles, I realised that my mission on this earth is to spread joy.' [1]

"Neruda continued to speak out fiercely against the brutalities of fascism and authoritarian forces that inflicted suffering on the people. He shared the struggles of the ordinary people throughout his life.

"The only way to build a genuinely democratic society is for the people to become strong and wise, and unite together. It is vital that each individual possess a philosophy enabling them to distinguish good from evil, and for them to advance feeling that their efforts are making a real difference.

“That’s why dialogue is so important—it promotes people’s awareness and also deepens friendships.”

Buddhism is the propelling force, the power house,
to help us open up our lives and completely transform
our karma into our unique mission!
It’s for this reason,
that we polish our hearts and minds
day in and day out!
Let’s realise our goals by working hard
and constantly challenging ourselves!

"I hope that all our divisions will unite and exert themselves with even greater vigour in expanding the number of people who share a connection with the Daishonin’s Buddhism and building friendships, boldly paving the way in the new era of worldwide kosen-rufu.

"Mr. Toda said: 'In any struggle, we have to challenge ourselves until we can say in the end that we genuinely enjoyed it. If we can’t say that, then we haven’t made a real effort.’

"The struggles we go through for the sake of Buddhism will be transformed into good fortune. Our Buddhist faith and practice give us the strength to win no matter what.

“The key is to unfailingly overcome each of the challenges before us, striving for the lofty ideal of 'establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land.' This will limitlessly open the way for the future of kosen-rufu and of your lives.”

“In future ages if there are good men and good women who p.320have faith in the wisdom of the thus come one, you should preach and expound the Lotus Sutra for them, so that others may hear and understand it. For in this way you can cause them to gain the buddha wisdom. If there are living beings who do not believe and accept it, you should use some of the other profound doctrines of the thus come one to teach, benefit, and bring joy to them. If you do all this, then you will have repaid the debt of gratitude that you owe to the buddhas.”

"Those who have a mentor in life are never deadlocked. They can always open the path to victory. No way of life is more honourable.

“This drama of the oneness of mentor and disciple will endure for all eternity.

"The bond of mentor and disciple arises from the vow to engage in a shared struggle across the three existences.

“We are eternal comrades who, from time without beginning, have upheld the Law that informs the actions of all Buddhas and bodhisattvas.

“Together, let’s continue to walk the great path of disciples, of successors, and of shared commitment—a path that will shine for all time.”
