The new leaves around the top seem very sativa-like compared to the broad indica leaves below.

honestly the loudness is an effective pc fan is what made me upgrade. those 4'' inline can fans are completly silent but they dont cool anything but flouro light. but i figured if ihad tha pc fan that loud might as well be a high velocity 4'' that what i run now with scrubber and a tower style room fan taht sits near the closet door.

Cracker 420, a pc would be great for clones, you could have a bonsai mum in there with a coulpe of CFLs and go perpetual. Btw, thanks for your advice in my Infirmary post.

Yeah Jetta, I was wondering about the leaf droop and thought it was under watering but the new growth grew twisted and felt very brittle and dry. Posted in the Infirmary and the general concensus is the Miracle-Gro I started using.

So I did a flush of 2 litres of plain water and watch for things to improve then slowly restart with new ferts. But the white skunks love the MG so I'll keep it for them, just light ferting, and look for something else for Padme.

So in the mean time, (that one's for you Scrub. Can you imagine how many I'll use come harvest time?)

stealthcabber, the good thing about the fan is the dial, I can turn it down at night of if people come over and turn it up if the temps increase but I'm renovating thie flowering case in the next couple of days to increase the airflow so we'll see if I can get it quieter.

Thanks Fyl, GL with all the cases. Looking forward to the thread. I love having a journal here, I'm always wanting to show people but, for good security, need to stay silent. And the wealth of experience here is great and someone can always help out if you need it.

OK, update time.

Padme seems to be recovering well, I flushed with 2 litres of water and the leaves are untwisting. Seems miracle-gro is called that because if you grow something with it, it's a miracle!!

The flowers are getting nice and fluffy now.
Day 46 from seed, Day 31 from 12/12, Day 12 from first pistils.

So from now on I'm making my own tea. Organic all the way, starting off with a tea made from banana skins for potassium, blood and bone, chicken manure and worm poo. It actually smells nice.

I'm pretty sure #3 is a boy, flowers started popping and they look kinda bally (if that is a word.)

Could anyone confirm?

I've tried to rebuild the flower case. Trying to get the temps down. Notice I've used the word TRY twice!! Arrrggh!!!
Re-do again after more planning...

I'm thinking of having the globes arranged like a roof so more of the light from the end gets to the plants and has the exhaust at the top. The 120mm fan wouldn't fit so added another 80mm fan for exhaust but that left me in the same spot. HOT!!

Gonna install the 120mm instead of the 80mm using a kind of duct out of screws and duct tape (oh, that's what it's for) If I can put the scrubber in between the new light rails all will be well in there.

I'll update when it's done. Hopefully with good news.

Thanks for the props on the LST Scrub, it's a good technique but next grow I might veg longer with LST and flower into a scrog screen. Seeing the results you and Aero got with the screen made me think. Then someone in the neighbourhood threw away two of those mesh drawers and I found my screens. Just need to get at them with an angle grinder and I'm scroggin'.

What Miracle-Gro soil blend did you use?

Nice one. Is the screen bare metal/chrome or plastic coated? I'm kind of iffy about the screen I used now because I found out the coating is softened pvc, which is the dangerous stuff. I mean, so is my whole tent and the plants are intertwined all over the pvc screen obviously, but I had none of the very distinctive "yellowing from the top" effects of offgassing. But nevertheless it doesn't seem like the best material for the job. Two interesting threads on the topic:

Hey Immaculate, thanks for dropping in. I didn't use Miracle-Gro soil, I used the all-purpose nutes and almost killed Padme. I prefer to mix my own soil from compost, a cheap potting mix, worm casting and chicken manure, all the good stuff.

Started using an organic tea for last night's feeding, and both are looking good today. I seeped some chopped up banana peel, compost, blood and bone, chicken manure, treacle (molasses) and garden lime.

Definately sticking with organics from here on in. It feels so much better not wasting stuff. Any veggie scraps, peels, tea bags or any organic matter for that matter gets put in the worm bin and a couple of months later I have soil that's full of nutrients and won't burn the plants.
And the rubbish bin doesn't stink!

That's some interesting ideas about the scrog screen Scrub, I think the screen I found is powder coated, but it could contain some of those nasties. But then again, duct tape is made of PVC and that is all around the place. Outside the box mostly but you've got me thinking now. Come to thing of it, the wire I used to LST is wrapped in PVC.

Damn this stuff is everywhere. Now I'm thinking about the batten holders, they're plastic but not sure if they give off any gasses.

Hey cheesebuds, thanks for visiting. I've been taking lots of pics of both plants, I'm starting to take more pics of my plants than my wife.
Both are in the smaller case while I renovate the flowering box.

I'm seeing trichs, but can't get close enough to take pics. I'm still using my phone cam and shoot through a mag glass but the focus is all fuzzy.

You know, I didn't even think about those! I use lots of both too. Hope it didn't alarm you. I got quite shocked at first but at least we have it in mind. I'm sure commercial bud goes through a lot worse.

Plants are looking A1! I'm going to try organics hopefully late this year. Should be fun.

Thanks MK, I'm praying for dankness too. She's at day 21 of flowering so I hope they fill out like the other buds I've seen here. Hmmm bud envy.

Scrub, I've stopped worrying about the PVC, considering it is everywhere, a little around the grow box won't kill me. (I may get a new gimp mask tho, I'm thinking leather..)

Since the last update, Luke (WS#3) finally blew a load, so Leia now has some pollen on a bud. (Damn, Sci-Fi incest in the PC) He later got chopped and is now compost

Still getting some yellowing on the leaves, had a slight Mg def that is slowly getting better but her leaves still droop.

Leia is starting to bud up nicely, I transplanted her into a larger pot, I think it's about 3 litres, but room for more growth.

This is the main top, but with LST she has about 15 bud sites. Some may only produce popcorn but better than nothing.

I'm thinking Padme should finish in 3 weeks (depending on trichs) so I popped 4 C99 beans into some soil and wait for them to raise their heads. Probably start a new thread for them, dunno wether it should be here or in the grow diaries. Feels better to keep micros in the micro section.
