Albion Calcium 3 grams per gallon

would love to see how that compares to your foliar regimen.

Yea... that's not a strictly foliar program tho. He sprays out of a 55 gallon drum and a lot goes into a soil drench which, I think, affects the application rates. I'm looking to get just a ml or oz per gallon...I haven't got my on demand pump and turbo spray gun to work properly yet so I'm rocking a 4 gallon electronic backpack sprayer. Cep, BYF, Milky, anyone want to reveal the application rates and how you came to them before someone pepzymes their plants to death?

My foliar recipes are similar to Backyard and Milky's. If you check back to my soil results you'll see that I have too much K, almost enough Mg, about enough Ca, and not enough Boron. I'm trying to taylor the foliar to meet the needs of the plant in specific soil so you will not see any heavy K sources (this bums me out because I had AgSil on standby). I'll be trying to force Ca, Mg, P, and B into the plant but it will be an uphill battle considering that K antagonizes Ca/Mg. Unlike Backyard I won't be using the N source Pure Protein Dry very often because my soil has enough nitrogen at the moment and I want to get the minerals in order first. I only need 6 gallons for foliars right now so I mix in 2, 5gal buckets and use a hudson sprayer:



Every 5 days or so for the past month:
2 ounces Albion metalosate Calium/gallon
1 ounce Photomag/gallon
1 ounce PHT Phosphorus/gallon
1 ounce Rejuvenate/5 gallons
1/4 ounce yucca or cocowet/5 gallons
1 tsp spectrum/ 5 gallons
1/4 ounce sea crop/ 5 gallons
1 tbls fulvic acid/5 gallons

In between the previous treatment I've been hitting rows 1 & 3 with the trial products that contain Sea Shield, Sea Stim, Rejuvenate, Micro 5000, Spectrum. I'm not seeing a huge difference yet but I think thats due to the frequency of the first foliar treatment being effective. Milky has recommended AEA's Hypercap which is a more available P source along with Calcium for foliar so I might fiddle with that soon.

Just laid down a bunch of straw because the clover I planted for living mulch isn't going to grow fast enough to be useful. Also started making 4.5ft diameter remesh cages. Will post pics tomorrow.

Hi, when I use the 55 gal it's foliar only, yes I use that much for foliar.

When I do a drench its out of a 400 gallon tank because I have to drive the water to the gardens because the main line runs between my gardens are too far apart to pump Jutes rough my drip line. I also end up spraying the plants.

I use ferti nitro. PPD , and sea shield ...

Cep , when you say ounce do you mean 28 grams.. In reference to the Albion powder?

Oh yeah I should have specified it's the liquid Calcium metalosate. Looks like a brown version of the slime from ghostbusters, smells a little like soy sauce.

I couldn't get the powder locally. Two cps locations around here don't seem to stock the things I ask about or want to transfer it for such a small sale. I think next year I'll probably try and find the Cal boro powder when I'm done with this jug.

BYF's "recipe" gives 3oz per gallon of rejuvenate and Cep's 1oz per 5 gallons? Will someone clarify?

I can't speak for Backyard as to why he chooses his amounts but Rejuvenate contains Potassium and thats something I don't want to use much of this year. It feeds microbes though and I want some of that action on my leaves.

Do you have a soil analysis for this year Furry? If anyone wants to post their numbers here I'm fine with that...

My soil numbers are kind of similar to yours, Cep... So far, I've taken your advice and added gypsum- I did 2 cups of soluble gypsum per 300 gallon smart pot top dressed and, I haven't been adding anything with K or P..... no drenches, just foliar. I took three samples of the soil (top, middle, bottom) and they were about the same except the top had "moderately low" levels of N. I've been doing weekly calcium25 and PPD foliar sprays...There was some drooping, tacoing and, paleness in most of the plants, OGs especially but, after my first Photomag/MicroPak foliar five days ago most of those signs went away! The rest of the aea and tanio products are arriving today.

This soil is last years vermfire with the addition of 1:10 vermiblend.... Based on what I've read here I'm pretty sure the compost is what boosted the numbers.

Hey furry, I've got some question about the fogger because I'm very close to ordering one myself. If your using organic products in it is it necessary to cover up and use a respirator? Also is there anything that those forgers won't work with? Like neem oil or Karajan oil? I like to use coots foliar spray I got off here a while ago. Aloe juice, protekt, and karanja/neem oil.

I don't have much K , and rejuvenate gives the boost I need. It's easier to add salt at the table. and using the acre rate for pepzyme , with spectrum ...the leaf biology is happy rejuvenate is great food for them , with the pht p too...yup.

Today , I noticed a pile of castings on Top of my soil near a drip emitter and a worm friend coming to surface....I didn't add any either ..ever...from no casting farm brah , the only imported castings are the 20%/80% worm casting green waste compost blend that the NorCal blend starts with...that the peat and perlite and lava rock get added to..

Furry, your pH is high enough where you could use sulfur. Plants will have a hard time feeding in high pH soils, particularly with phosphorus that wants to stay complexed with Calcium. Your soil will get better with the winter rains pushing the excess Cl and some K out.

Dreambig, I'd use a respirator if there are biological inoculants in the mix. Same goes with topdressing or spreading the various meals I'll use (blood, feather, crab, etc).

Backyard, its nice to see the worms in the soil. Feels rewarding doesn't it? Last year all the spent coffee grounds and seed meals I added seemed to attract a bunch of them.

Dust mask is fine for everything I use. I don't even wear it for the foliars but the wind isn't kicking in the early am at my spot so I am never breathing a bunch of it in. The hudson 2 gal fogger is all I need for my garden size. Right now I'm filling it three times for the plot and it takes me about an hour. I've put everything through it too, neem, ferts, microbes...

Hey Furry, a word of caution on the elemental sulfur: Another grower on here was having problems with high pH soil and all he had to do was add a couple tablespoons to his smarties. Apparently a little goes a long way. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want to recommend something that is going to hurt someone else garden.
