Cell Phone Tracking

A

arrg

They 100% need no warrant and I have been at my buddies house while his brother a cop was there calling in for info tracking stolen goods. Sprint alone has released the data 8 million times in 2009 they have a nice little portal online that cops can just log in and get what they need. All they need is the number and they map where you go and when.

Just came across this news video.

Pay attention about 1 minute in to the video.

This is how simple it is if LEO has someones PH #

If they don't have the number (because it is a throw away phone) there ARE simple ways to scan for all available/connected phones in a given area.
VERY simple thing to do if the subject in question is in a building...or the woods...as long as that person is not in a football stadium full of people with cell phones!

Here's the video, again this is just an average every day news video but it brings it to the point:

Well it never occured to me that my cell phone could be used in that way. I was told by a attorney friend of mine yesterday that all they need is you phone number. they can't tell exactly where you are but they can come pretty damm close.....and thats way to close when u are growing outdoors like me

Anyone remember the computer hacker Kevin Mitnick?

He was able to manipulate cellphone tower by monitoring which numbers came into service using a specific tower. Mitnick knew he was being searched for by the FBI and he had already stolen the phone numbers of everyone working on his case. He wrote some script that monitored the tower for the specific numbers and then would alert him when a cell phone from his list appeared on the tower.

He wasn't a cop. It was the 90's too.

That's the thing I keep saying:

If some home grown hacker can do the above...or break in to the Pentagon computer (as they have in the past) - then why would it be complicated/difficult/costly to track down something as simple as the user of a cell phone!?

We all know there are laws enabling and preventing snooping around but guess why there is the term called "classification"...or in more modern every day terms "Homeland Security"?

No LEO is gonna care enough about that 3 plant grower but once it gets medium to large scale EVERY GROWER who does so in a not-so-growing-liberal-state is a potential individual someone somewhere could be keeping an eye on.

If one doesn't know enough about cell phone technology "battery out" is the ONLY safe thing to do.
And we already know "talking about it" on the phone is a BIG NO in first place.

100% true, parents can see where their children are if they pay for the app. so what the police have less technology than house wives???????
daa i don't take my cell anywhere with me important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when have the police ever needed a warrant to do anything, they only need to go into your residence. I know of bikers here who have had their places and inside their houses bugged, cam'd...

they only care about a warrant if they want to use the evidence in court. but they will find out if your place is worth watching first by listening to your calls and then maybe your dumb ass gives em a reason for a warrant. cell phone tracking and listening is going on all day everyday, that is a FACT

amazing how educated, knowing bikers will make you, but never the less it can be quite true.

police don't sit around waiting for shit, people make it seem as though the judge has the equipment that goes with the actual warrant!!! cops come ready to rock, straight out the box.
batteries included....

a phone tap consists of seconds, it starts with say 30 seconds and if nothing is said pertaining to the supsected crime, then they must hang it up and wait for next call.. Then the time either goes up or down not sure. This is what i heard from an idiot i know who got popped many years ago it might have changed by now.. Also i heard celly's can record while off, so take yer battery out when talking yer game.. lol.. im just saying.. peace n pufs.

sackO

what up Sacko that's one hot bia! anyways no they listen in on a call for a certain time then if nothing is being said they have to stop listening for a period of time then switch on again, same call. they can legally tape for evedence anything "possibly" pertaining to the warrant the tap was covered under.
