had 2 different reactions to CBD.. reaction 1.. Nothing.. Reaction 2 pain relief..

but.. 1 was an unknown supposedly high thc tincture. and did nothing .. then got some cheeba chews from a friend 10mg cbd in each.. took all of them . 8. 80mg.. cbd. and got some pain relief.. It seems like you need a ton of the shit to get relief from it..

but honestly. if and when I find a high cbd clone.. I will try eating between 200-500mg of oil at a time to see if it works !

Yeah thats it, just keep eating more until you feel something.
80mg isn't all that much, just about 0.1g of good oil, similar amount as a person might do of THC.

CBD does not change how "CBD-enhanced" THC-variety affects you, cause CBD does not control every compound in cannabis.
..meaning, CBD-rich sativa will still feel like sativa, indica (stoned) will feel like indica.

So, if a certain THC-only strain has rushy-sativa effect before the CBD-enhancement, it's likely it will be somewhat rushy even if there is some CBD in it, thou CBD will soften that effect a bit.. And if it raises blood pressure as THC-only variety, it may do so even after CBD-enhancement.

If a THC-only stain isn't known to give much pain releaf, the CBD-version of it, prolly, isn't gonna be the best strain for pain either.
For me, how i feel personally (not an expert or that well read) THC also plays a part in pain releaf. It can bring on some "numbness" for the body.

What else..

Even if a CBD-rich strain is known to be 20:1 CBD/THC, this doesn't mean that it will have a huge % of CBD in it, it only refers to the ratio of CBD and THC. So if there's only 0.1% of THC, the CBD% isn't that huge either if it's 20:1 to the 0.1% THC.

And most likely med-users need larger amounts of CBD than just a joint of few bong hits. so CBD consentrated might be worth to try if people want to experiment with CBD-treatments.

My CBD Critical Cure will f-you-up if you smoke enough of it. I'd estimate the THC level is close to 10% and the CBD % is even higher. Good amount of Myrcene in her to make you sleepy. Very nice night cap smoke.

I like CBD-rich weed and i mix it with my THC-only smokes. I like hashish alot and this mix will give a nice hash-like effect, which, to me, is much nicer than with strong THC-only smokes.

:)

i use cbd for diabetic neuropathy and can feel an difference.

I am not sau=ying this will work for everyone each are different:tiphat:

Most won't be even able to find out if the plants at their garden are actually high CBD or not.

This is the reality for most people, yes

.. but a seasoned smoker, with some THC-only bud at hand, can find out which of their CBD-rich plants has a good amount of CBD = you can feel the THC-inhibition effect of CBD when you smoke a 50/50 mix or THC-only and CBD-rich bud.

The first time i smoked my CBD Critical Cure i wanted to feel how it really worked and so i didn't smoke any THC-only bud before that. I went thru a 1.2-1.5 gram dry bud of CBD Cure during the day and smoked some strong THC-only bud 4-5 hours after the last puffs of that CBD bud, and i could still feel a strong inhibition-effect from the CBD.

So, if you're a seasoned smoker and you have some THC-only weed at hand that you're familiar with, how it hits you, you can make a rough estimation of the amount of CBD in your plant with out any test kit

..other than your own body.

But, like you said, this is bit of a problem for people who aren't very experienced smokers.

All this CBD trend is mostly a commercial thing and something that came after the fact that CBD is non-psychoactive

People with mental health issues report getting help from CBD. It brings clarity and focus and calms you down abit. I sleep shitty and problems come with that, and i can alsosay CBD helps the mind.

But the problem is not the lack of CBD really

Oh, i think it is! heh-heh. But this is higly personal thing. For me, i wouldn't mind if many of my favourite THC-only bud (15-20+ THC) had 3-5% of CBD in them.

Even if people like to smoke THC-only weed, but feel that sometimes the effects of strong THC-only weed can be over powering, a little CBD can take the annoying edge off the strong THC-only.

... so one way or another, the truth is that they all will be equally good or useless by all means

I can't (fully) agree with this, simply because many of these strains are polyhybrids, both NLD and BLD types, so there are huge amount of different chemotypes, thou many strains have that CBD-rich NYCD in it.

As many have said, these new CBD-rich lines aren't very stable, which also means there is alot of chemotypic variation.

Like i mentioned earlier, CBD-rich sativa will still feel like a sativa, an indica like an indica. Not the same as their THC-only versions, but CBD-enhancement won't make a super stoney strain an electric-rushy sativa like plant.

But i understand your point, i'm not just that worried about it. I'm sure there will come other lines that are not related to NYCD

Other than that..

Good points. Lot of marketing talk, but i also think people expect too much while also they might not have good enough understanding how drug cannabis feels and function in our body-system. Science is still figuring that out. I don't mean you or anybody specifically with this, i know you're experienced smoker/grower.
:)

PS.

Very good info and points from many of yous!!

I saw something for the first time last week on a test result for flower. It tested at 0.00 thc and 15.68 cbd. Was a batch of ac/dc. I've seen plenty of results at <1% thc but never 0.00. This was a full potency, pesticides, mold/mildew test for the legal market.

I never thought of cbd ( or thc for that matter) as a pain relief. What I do feel cbd works for is anxiety, concentration, hangovers, flu.. as what it does more than anything is calm your nerves. It works as an adaptogen.

I often mix my potent strains with cbd ones, usually closer to bed time. I only smoke cbd based smokes on a morning after and wouldn't give up my meds for anything :)

Amateur breeding is killing the Cannabis genepool and diversity really. And this will have a direct influence in both medical and recreational plants. As the time passes, it will become harder and harder to find anything unique and without being contaminated by the commercial genepools from the present days. This will be negative both for recreational smokers and patients in need of relief.

Just my 2 cents.:tiphat:

As an amateur breeder  I have to comment on this. I know you were of course talking about the amateurish breeding methods used by most seed banks today and I agree that CBD is certainly not for everyone, but those who seek CBD usually do so for a reason and usually find a way to acquire some... If only more people were breeding their own we wouldn't be in this sad situation to begin with :smoke:

It should be noted:

CBD, by itself, has a limited range of effectiveness. No effect at lower dosages, limited effect at effective dosage and still limited effect at much higher dosages.

CBD, plus a little THC, has an effectiveness which is linear with the dosage. Small dose has a small effect, large dose has a large effect, massive dose has massive effect.
