best give that catnip to the cat one piece at a time. If the plant is left where the cat can get at it...

depending on if the cat has the catnip gene.

My cat started doing this to me a few weeks ago. What began as a every now and then thing has become an every morning thing. Never had a cat that did this so much. Just started maybe a month ago. I rescued him 5(ish ) months ago and he's grown more and more affectionate. He must have been traumatized. Not any longer, he seems a happy cat now....yay
( I'm old-So I rescued an older cat, 12 years old who was somewhat alienated when he first came home with me but is now, despite being a senior himself is healthy as a moose, shiny coat and good teeth, and getting into everything in my house. Everything. Has brought this old guy lots of joy and I'd like to think I've done the same. They told me at the shelter that nobody adopts them when they are older. Freddie was in a cage for 8 months. He's one of the best I've ever had, is attentive, loving, so much fun, and seems to feel the same way about me. Please consider adopting an older cat and be a hero to some little creature who will most certainly enhance your life in return. :tiphat:
