hey so i went and bought some of Safers caterpillar killer... Its ok to use even if im 3/4 weeks into flowering???? Like i already have buds forming? i shouldnt have to worry about causing mold from spraying them down?

I DESPISE caterpillars.... I already had one of my top colas get eaten in half :( i am about to cry... booo hoo

I would spray em JF, as them caterpillers could turn your whole grow into dust. They feed and procreate from the inside out of the bud nodes, thus if your seeing them you have a bunch of em.

Just my .02.

yea i misted the budding one pretty good, the other two ladies that are further behind in flowering i gave a pretty good spray...
They are real small right now, but i no what how big they get too (from past seasons) so i think ive detected them pretty early right now... BUt they definately did get to a couple of the buds and fuck em up :(
Hopefully the spray will do the job, and i will be pillar free from now on

ok so ive used a few different methods of caterpillar control and finally got rid of them. i dont have one in the garden.

the trichogramma wasps i released first, they cost the most and didnt make much of a difference.

then i added a 1 acre rated bug zapper outside, to kill off moths. its working GREAT, i barely have any moths or mosquitos outside anymore.

finally i decided im gunna try the BT safer spray, i normally dont like to spray my plants with anything, but whatever i used it. 1 teaspoon to a spraybottle of water spray them at night for 3 days in a row, and what do you know no more caterpillars.

i found a bunch of dead caterpillars sitting on leaves and in the soil, so bt works, you guys were right! anytime i have a caterpillar problem i know what to use, thought id spread the word

great to hear that worked out for you habibi, i will have to go and get some of that for later in the season. i lost over a P to caterpillars and bud worms last year.... do not want that to happen again. that BT sounds like some great stuff, and i will have to use some.

yep the BT is great, im a believer... Sprayed/misted the plants yesterday around sunset, cause i guess sun exposure makes the spray innefective... Anyways, check on em today, and already found a few dead little guys... So the BT for sure works.... Wondering if i should spray em down again today? or wait a few days? or just not spray em again.... hmmmm

Get rid of these fucks and do it fast!!!! I had a severe caterpillar attack last year, and not only does these lil fucks feed of the weed....they also hide in the buds leavin they excrements causin the buds to mold...trust me cause it happened to me. Peep my signature if u wanna see how bad it can look. I hope u overcome this obstacle and have a bountiful harvest.

Stay Safe

Same thing happened to me, GDK, when I first came to Cali, many a moon ago. Spraying BT 2-3 times throughout an outdoor grow is just a must IMHO. With any bacterial spray, do it at night, so they start to grow before the harmful UV's hit em.

JF- Not sure ya need to keep hittin em, but again I typically do a late June, mid July, and mid August spraying on my OD.

Good Luck.
