Well, I do'nt think its too expensive at $50.00 a gram. The people suppling this product is risking their freedom to bring the goods to your door. If you think about it, the price is what the market is willing to pay for the product. According to the News article, the group was quite large, and dividing the profits amongs each other made it less desirable. Thus the price increases. As for me, I am willing to pay $50.00 a gram if the product is of superior quality. I rather smoke good shit, than a butch of bunk stuff. Just like buying LV or Chanel, people pay high price for these good when it is actually worth dollars. You are paying for the quality and service. I know all you growers do'nt agree, but coming from a buyers perspective. They are actually happy to pay the price for the quality.

I'd have to say that while $50 a gram is a COMPLETE rip off, they were risking a lot being somewhat "public" with their operation. I don't know exactly how these services work but it seems to be as well known as they were they had to take more risk than a "normal" dealer. Not to mention having to pay people to deliver, and other fees. Then I'm sure the police inflated it, and it is NYC as well.

I'm not really sure why I'm trying to justify this because like i said $50 a gram is rediculous, hell $20 a gram is pretty bad! I didn't even think of med patients not being able to get out taking advantage of this service.

mm1681, i'd say it's more than a good chance that many will snitch and yea, it doesn't look like they busted the grower's, because they were in Canada... but will likely get up to them after they've jailed all the US people involved.

Anyway, charging those kind of price's is straight up wrong; and if they had changed the method of communication occasionally, they likely would've made it. Sounds like everybody that toked in NYC knew about the Network. Therefore, all the cop's know too, and it might be "just weed" and they might let you make it for a while longer, but when you are making that much bread and bragging that much about it... they're going to come and take it.

This is the first major delivery service i've heard of being busted, though, so it could be a scary new precident.

I am not really a buyer of bud. I grow my own shit. The thing is, when things get dry around my area, the price do actually sky rockets. You guys may think $50.00 a gram is ridiculous, but around here, $50.00 a joint is not unheard of. People are actually happy to get hooked up with da kind at $50.00 a joint than bunk seedy shit at $50.00 a bag. I am just saying that the price is what the market can handle, if you sell your stuff at $50.00 a gram and no body buys it, then its not worth $50.00 a gram, but if you sell your stuff at $50.00 a gram and everyone buys it up, then its worth $50.00 a gram. Why sell yourself short and sell it any less when you can sell it higher and still sell out? Are'nt we risking our lives here growing da kind for people to smoke? Is your life worth $50.00 a gram? Hmmm.... maybe you would wish you sold it at that price when you get busted and need money for the dam lawyers.

BTW, Sparobis, I only buy beans from Gypsy and his crew, for they have gained my trust in giving me quality service and beans. I do'nt know you, nor do I believe that you have any good beans, so until you can prove to me you have beans actually worth $200.00 for 10 seeds. Then you can keep on dreaming selling seeds at that price. I would however spend $200.00 for 10 beans if its coming from Rez, and I bet many people would too. just a phone call and 2 hours later it's there in your hand, I bet most of these guys gave the runner a tip for his trouble...their clients were mostly "suits" who probably take home $6~10K+ per month, so dropping a $50 for delivered bud is much better trying to find some time to go down to a shitty part of town risking getting ripped, robbed or busted..or the alternative is to wait around for hours for some tardy asshole to turn up...narhhh, they are too busy so they use a professional service....if anyone of us here was a suit in NYC, then you'd of used that service too.

i bet another pot delivery service has probably already moved in to fill the vacuum

The reason the product costs so much is because it's illegal. The people providing this service need to turn a profit enough to justify the risk of losing they're freedom. I hope they have set enough aside to pay for their court cost and legal fees.

The people providing this service were banking on weed being illegal. How does this help the sick who can't afford 50 bucks a gram? How does this do anything but give those against weed being legal a firmer stance? Your rational is part of why weed is kept illegal. Next you're going to tell me we need Guns and Thugs to protect our investments. The Cartoon Network and those like them are shooting the movement to legalize in the foot. i have actually bought from these services, cartoon is not alone. believe it or not $50 is a GOOD price ... ive seen those little plastic boxes go for $75. NYC is a place where people are used to paying $1200 a month for a PARKING PLACE. a phone booth apartment for $2400 a month. A night on the town can cost a couple of hundred bucks just to do some bar hopping. everything is more expensive there. when i was there once at a buddy's place in the east village this girl came to the door with a huge tacklebox full of EVERYTHING ... coke, heroin, pot, lsd, extacy, meth, shrooms, EVERYTHING! and everything at NYC prices. and lets not forget that thats $50 a gram *DELIVERED*.

My Cuz had ordered from Cartoon back in 04' when we were recording his album in the village, I belive it was Grape kush at the time and it had a Grapeade sticker on the box., 2 grams for $50 is what we paid. I spoke with him recently and he had already heard about the Bust and said "thiers like 4 or 5 more companys he deals with anyway, with better prices".. so Cartoon aint the only one make that $$... Delivery is the way to go in NYC.. I mean we have McDonalds Delivery so why not pot???? gotta luv it!!!!

I spent some time livin in the bronx during 2002-2003 and on average I paid 25 bucks for 2-3 gram sacs. It was allways top of the line shit. There are alot of good Island people in (NYC) AKA Jamacains , and I did not find it difficult at all to find a couple of good hookups. Being an out of towner there working as a cable televison contractor, alot of the time I was offered good smoke for free. Gratuity is a big thing in NYC unlike most of the US. And I even had a guy turn me onto 1/4 LB one time just because I told him I was from outta town and had not met a good connect. 50.00 a gram just seems insane.
