i was shopping at bulkreefsupply for some supplies for my fish tank and came across this supposedly better carbon. do you buy into the hype?

Pellets will work but, granules are better (more surface area and irregular shapes make for better scrubbing).

Near as I can tell, they're charging $40 for 12 lbs (3 lb buckets X 4) for $3.34 a lb

Granules can be had for $1.99 a lb (approx $2.34 after delivery) from a guy named thirdmillenium at Ebay. Others sell pellets for even less.
