Carboload and Sweet?

there are are few differences in carboload and sweet. First is the amino acids. I know that sweet has amino acids in their formula. I don't believe carboload has the amino's. Amino's are just as important to your plants metabolism as carbs are.

So just going off of that I would say that Sweet would be a better value seeing that it is essentially two products in one.

The other big difference is that sweet has artificial flavorings of berry or citrus. I don't know about you guys, but I know that I don't want an artificially flavored bud with citrus or berry. I want the best tasting natural flavors from my herb. IF it doesn't taste good, GET A NEW VARIETY! ;) Why then would I want to add sweet? I don't. I use Sugar Daddy from Technaflora. It has all the amino's and carbs that sweet does, but without the artificial berry or citrus bullshit. And its cheaper :)
i have ran both type of sweet berry and citrus. it doesnt flavor your weed. it does heighten the natural smell and flavor of the bud. there is nothing artificially flavoring anything. my shit seems to smell the exect same as before with the berry and the same as when molassus was used just stronger every time as i get better also at growing. also i use mostly botanicare products, and it only makes sense to compliment my nute line with a product formulated for use along with them. (calmag-seablast-gro-bloom-kahrma-sweet few other things like indo guano- budswell-diamond necture-purple max) if your using sugar daddy and you like it cool. i bet it works great, but dont be fooled by the fancy pic insinuations on the bottle and the heresay hype of shop owners trying to push "flavoring" as a selling point. i definately understand your concern and the nature of your comment and you are right if your strain is not dank trash it, but dont knock a product if you havent tried it your self.
it deserves a fair consideration. and for the extra couple dollars on a superior product why not, we are growing(SHOULD BE) DANK here man and if i were buying what i grow on the street ,i would be paying for four gallons of the shit a week. long story short 20extra bucks gets me a 3lbZ of enhanced flavor(not altored flavor) sweet! if anything smells like berry or citrus it is the stuff it self. A GALLON LASTS 3-4 CYCLES depending on ratios and usage. i get 3 runs per gal using through veg also at full strength til flush. IT IS DEFINATELY SUPERIOR TO MOLASSUS- but molassus does work just fine. these products are for people with leather seats and starbucks but they work and you get what you pay for. oh and i luv starbucks hehe  :lurk:
i will be following this one

If it is definitely superior, then why is it the number one ingredient in carboload?

I use mostly botanicare products myself and sweet vs molasses = molasses every time just cause it's cheaper and it works. I got a number of bottles of sweet and sweet citrus as testers from the hydro store and neither worked any better. In fact, some of the hydro store customers are now asking for molasses since I brought some in for them to try. But hey, if it works for you, dont fix it.

Oh, I still prefer to brew my own coffee. Call me cheap, but frugality pays for early retirement.

Do me a favor before we go any further, call american agritech (botanicare) and ask for renee or whatever tech they have working today. Ask her if the esters they use for berry and citrus imparts flavor into the finished product, and see what she says.

I have used sweet, that is the reason I posted. I don't like the idea of artificially changing the flavor of my buds. I looked for an alternative that had all the goodies of sweet but without the esters.

esters are the flavor changers berry and citrus. The plants can absorb these esters but cannot metabolize them, so they are stored up in the buds. Maybe you grow a variety that has a strong aroma/flavor all on its own that overpowers the effects of the esters... Maybe your pallet isn't as refined as mine...I don't know why you are not smelling tasting this crap, but I assure you, its there.

If you want to change the flavor/aroma go with sweet.
If you want to enhance what is already there, go with the daddy.

Molasses is a good addative, it just doesn't have the amino's so it is half the product sweet and sd are.

Thanx sunny side guess suger daddy might be the way to go.....Is sugar daddy and organic additive like say liquid karma?

Thanx for taken the time Sunny for that....I kinda figured that since there is no omri label on the bottles..........I was under the impression that Botincares line of nutes pureblend, sweet, liquid k were all organic....A few harcore growers that I know swear that they are..Sunny whats your organic grow regimen that you use successfully?....thanx uber

Carboload contains Glucose, Dextrose, Arabinose, Xylose, Maltose and another type of sugar. Molasses has Glucose Fructose and Sucrose as well as magnesium and usually rates out to 1-0-5.

Carboload will provide more essential carbons to your plants and the powder is actually real cheap to use. 4oz per 100 gallons.

Both carboload and molasses will help your garden. One may help more than the other depending on your situation. Can't ever go wrong with either one.

Use til you flush?

Use til you flush?

How long do you guys use BS molasses into your grow?
I am trying this stuff for the 1st time and I am wondering if I should be feeding my plants up until I harvest or up until 2 weeks prior when I start feeding only water.

I understand blackstrap has calcium and magnesium, which I hear is deficient in fox farm ocean forest, so I think it is a great additive for that reason alone. It definitely lowers the PH of my water too.

Sweet changes the taste, but molasses wont?

Ive used them all, many times, and Sweet will stay in the mix.

It enhances the flavor of the fruit, not artificially changing anything.

So carboload has more / different kinds of sugars? Who knew. BirdBrain, I use molasses right up to the very last watering. If they get plain water at the end its because I'm being lazy. Word - as for it lowering the ph, definitely, but using too much - say instead of phdown, is a bad idea. Too much sugar and you can clog the roots. I only use 1-1.5 teaspoons per gallon. Tried 1 tblsp per gallon and ended up killing some girls. Seems that they were a little drier than the rest and the excess just killed em right off - whereas plain water wouldve fixed em right up.

Do you guys think molasses would enhance every Garden? or just organic Gardens?

I have a very basic soil grow, using a basic 3 part fertilizer by Advanced Nutrients. I don't see any deficiency with my plants. Would Molasses help my garden? How would it help my garden? Weight? Taste? THC %?

When do you start feeding your ladies with Molasses? How often do you feed them?

Do you find your weed burns nicely (stays lit, white ash) after feeding your plants molasses right to finish?

Interesting stuff guys. Thanks for all the info.

Wheels - sorry for the late reply. My fert regime is hydro-organic. Pure Blend Pro and Molasses are the base. I add sensizyme and hydroguard so I can reuse my coco / perlite / worm shit mix. I do add a salt based bloom boost. I prefer hydroplex, but have had success with about any decent bloom booster. I try and keep the boost on the low end though - for example if I use orchid blossom food - which is basically a one part hydroponic fertilizer, I only use half strength = 5, 15, 10.

BUT, to answer your question, yes I think it will help your plants. A hydro store website recently ran 4 different kinds of fertilizers to test their effectiveness and found that FloraNova did the best - they think it is because FloraNova has added amino acids, humic acids, sugars, etc.

Try it once, see if you like it.
