been around on here alot lately, researching and learning. feminized or regular seeds is the question. small grow, 18"W X11"deep and 33" high container w/ about 100W CFL w/ 150W HPS for flowering too. 2 100cfm exhaust fans and 2 5" intake holes. probably a scrog. only want 1 or 2 plants. 1 would be best so if i go reg i have to plant 3 or 4 praying for a female or 2. if i go fem i still have to worry about a hermie and don't know about fem reputation. whatever way i go, the strain must be a low odor plant. it has to be stealth. will be controlling odor control also w/ a couple odor gel cans. strains i'm thinking of are feminized NL X BB or BOG's bogglegum. u know which 1 i'd rather do but...
thanks

Leave the feminized beans alone. Just grow out some nice beans from a quality breeder and you'll do ok.

If your looking for some nice smoke try sour bubble or NL#5

if i go scrog, my netting will be about 12" above top of container, right? will it be a problem seperating males from a small area under a scrog? or do i put scrog in place after males are taken out? farmer john i don't remember if i asked u how the bogglegum plants smelled. would they be good for a stealth grow, 1 or 2 plants?
thanks again guys.

you dont start the scrog until you have a sexed garden with nuthing but females.

Just dont rush things because that is when you get issues

I prefer more like 8 inches between the Container and the Trellis. At 33 inches you need all the room you can get. You just need to be able to get your hand under there to do some pruning etc. You could even get away with 6 inches if you had to...

so what do u just weave the new growth through the netting and it grows through it and up alittle? i think i may do lifesaver now. bog just said w/ my lighting(100W CFL for veg and 150W HPS added for flowering), lifesaver would grow better in that lighting. may be alittle stinkier than bogglegum though...u think a couple odor control gel cans will keep the closet scentless?
thanks

Yes kinda readjust the plant back under the screen once it starts growing vertically again. I use those plastic twist ties (available at home depot) to hold the plant in the chosen position. You want to make sure you have at least one budsite per opening in the trellis. You can have more than one site per hole if the holes are big enough. Just guide the plants growth towards the areas of your screen where you dont have budsites yet.

I dont have any experience with the odor cans in a grow space. I have an ozone generator in the adjoining room. I have smelled those odor cans and they are pretty strong though...

Yup - that's the method I use. Hangers work great with that twist tie stuff! Another K.I.S.S. method--

The reason people dont like to set up a SCROG on seed plants is that usually they are using one screen for mutiple plants. If you use the hanger method like in the the previous post's link, you can simply remove the whole containter and screen if it turns out to be a male. Otherwise, you would have to go and cut the male out of the single screen after it got all twisted up with the other females, which can be a pain in the ass.

If you are just getting your first crop started from seed and have no access to clones, I see no problems SCROGing all plants, provided you have the space, and you are using individual screens and can easily pull the whole container out if they need to go.

Vindiesel, if you want all females your best bet is probably going to be cloning from a mother you have previously sexed and that has the traits that you desire. That is what I am going to do to get guaranteed all females. I would clone for sex, select a mother for more clones and there you have it. Good luck bro. Peace. :canabis: :canabis:

Start your seeds and take a clone of each fem, veg them until you have flowered the plants the clones came from, make sure to keep them labeled so you know which plant to keep after you cure and smoke the mothers. Decide which smoke you like the best and keep that clone, toss the others, and now you can fill up your scrog without males and you know the quality of smoke you are getting. Cloning is rather simple, and is a skill quickly learned. You can grow the clone into a mother plant under a few cfls.

If i guy is growing from seeds just for smoke & has limited space / I don't see why not all FM beans? / there is a thread here somewhere with some nice looking all NL x BBud (50.00) all FM plants form seed & IMO think they are the way to go for the once or twice a year seed buyer / learning to clone & keep mother plants is a all together diff ballgame

I have some Romulan x Blueberry Sativa FM comming & am going to pick up some others as well / Sweetooth / Strawberry cough / Morrining glory / & look forward to some all FM Soma NYCD

i'm starting to lean towards not doing a scrog now. doesn't seem practical for a 10" wide small stealth grow. what other kind of training is recommended for a small space grow? thinking of just bending braches down and tieing them to side of pot. i don't know.
