Canoe leaves

I started flowering on the 28th and since starting I have been noticing that some of my leaves are taking on a canoe sort of shape, and the blades can be flipped into a up or down canoe so I don't know what they are trying to do.

I have 2x175W MH in an aquarium canopy and the lights were about 8-10" from the plants, but I raised them about 6-8" today because I am worried that the canoe leaves might be a sign of heat stress. Some of the leaves look a little darker than usual, but there are really no other signs of stress except the canoe leaves.

I want to do a nutrient flush in case there is a salt buildup, but I am not sure how because this is my first grow, do I just water a lot more plain water than usual for 1 watering and let it all drain out? I have been searching but I can't really find a good explanation on what to do.

I apologize for not having pictures, but my video card died so I have to use a school computer for the moment.

Also, I am planning on upgrading to a 3'11"x3'11" growlab w/ 600 W HPS; would there be any problems if I moved all the plants in there in the middle of flowering, or will they stress out from the different, much more intense light?

I have not read about any off gassing problems with the growlab brand, but I will keep an eye out.

I was searching for flushing instead of leeching, maybe thats why I didnt get results. I looked at your links and I think I understand leeching now. Some of leaves look like the one in the second thread you posted, but not as severe. There are also no brown spots on the leaf fringes. I think I will try leeching today to see if it helps.

Thanks for your help

OH ok!... that's called "clawing" a classic sign of over ferting.
Not "canoe leaves" which would be leaves bending up or praying for mag.
Yes, leeching will help get them back into healthy shape, then once they've recovered feed them weaker strength or less often.

Ok the leaching is done and I am hoping that they will recover in the next few days. I should be able to post some pictures in a day or two. I don't know if its "canoeing" or "clawing". Some are doing one and some are doing another. It may mean more than one problem or some leaf blades might have went from canoe to claw from breeze and handling.

Thanks for the help. I will put up pics when I can so that someone can say for sure what the problem is.
