Cannabis Pizza?

My understanding is that you want a saturated fat, the reasoning being that short-chain fatty acids are more readily digested than the larger & more complex long-chain fatty acids (mono- & poly-unsaturates).

IF that is true, here are some percentage of saturated fatty acids numbers: coconut oil - 86; palm kernel oil - 81; butter - 62; lard - 40; olive oil - 13; canola oil - 7.

There is much (MUCH) discussion of these things in this thread.http://boards.cannabis.com/concentrates/140616-cannabis-capsules-step-step-guide.html

So arguably, for a mild pain patient, or glaucoma patient a quick toke and some long chain unsaturated fat cannabis oil would be the perfect remedy.

I dont see why the olive oil would absorb less of the thc as long its heated properly, and mixed well.

Cheers, britbull!

Chief, if I have the argument correctly, it's not that olive oil absorbs less THC, it's that the longer, more-involved digestive process for unsaturated fats could delay, dilute, & possibly break down THC more than the simpler, faster digestive process for saturated fats.

So for instance if you had the same amount of THC in a gram each of coconut oil & olive oil, the coconut oil would get you higher, faster, & presumably for a shorter period of time than the olive oil.

NB I don't know if this is true or not. It has a certain logic to it, but that logic may or may not have anything to do with the actual biochemistry. If anyone reading this actually knows, I'd love to hear from them.

And if it is true, I don't know how true it is. What sort of percentage difference would there be? 3%? 10%? 25%?

Another experiment to add to my list: do two small batches side by side & compare. If (or rather when) I do it, I'll post results. (not planning on trying it real soon, but eventually I'll get around to it).

I say eat the pizza as is and drink a big glass of chocolate weed milk with it. As I have mentioned before that is my new favorite. Easy to make and less greasy mess. :yummy: YUMM!!

take the buds, put them in a bottle of pure olive oil.

Forgot them for a month or two, and then cook the pizza.

When it is ready, pour the crude oil on it.

That's how they used to do it in the 18th century.

For short and medium chained fatty acids only coconut oil and ghee(clarified butter), the more yellow the better, are the best. The other oils are long chained especially animal fats(a lot of saturated fat) that come from the skin of the animal which most animal fats do.

Also, using coconut oil or ghee is good to make sure most of the thc gets used instead of stored in fat cells like long chained fats due to slow twitch muscle fibers utilizing these fats quickly BUT the long chained fats is good for an overall body high because they get absorbed into lymphatic system better than short and medium chained fats.

Combining the ghee(short chained), coconut oil(medium chained) and the oilive oil, avocado or nuts(long chained) and you will have an absorption rate better than just oilive oil alone and you will get a whole high than just using short or medium chained fats. The high will also last longer.

You also want to take some lecithin with the oils because it will enhance the absorption rate of the fats. If you eat whole foods especially nuts and avocados, you will have some lecithin in those but adding more with supplementation will make the absorption even better.

Lecithin can be bought at gnc.

Lastly, if you want the high to come on faster than normal, you have to move around and not sit around waiting for the effects because when you move around you get your system moving and your slow twitch fibers will be more active which means they will absorb more oxygen and "burn" the fat that contains the thc meaning a faster and more efficient high than sitting around which slows the body down. If done at night you will also fall asleep faster than if taken in the daytime due to low light levels causing the brain to release melatonin which causes sleepiness. Daylight inhibits this.

If you take the edibles at night, make sure you take a stimulant with them like tea or coffee. This will prevent the lethargic effects.

Make sure they are bone dry because if they have a little too much water in them, you can get sick from bacteria and mold growth.

yeah forgot to say that they used to store it in a porous box, like a wooden one. Just as like with wine or normal olive oil.
