The Judges are doing the HTCC , Arjan and those that bothered to enter something (even though they already knew the outcome) a service. The customers of those shops keep Adam on the map cause lets face it ... No weed and No Red Light district and Amsterdam is a Lame Place after a day of sight seeing. The Town and High Times need to get a fucking grip on reality. The people that run this thing should at least make it Appear like any other fair contest. They aren't even trying to cover up the sham.

i gotta say I am not super happy that Greenhouse won but they did have a better entry than Barney's this year. IMHO Green Place getting 3rd place represents the people's vote for this cup but the lemon haze was nice.

Barney's - 2nd place - Utopia Haze
Green Place - 3rd place - Chocolope
Barneys won also for the Sativa Cup with Utopia Haze and Best Booth with their crazy gravity bongs and Best Hashes both Import - tripple zero and Neder - royal jelly
Kiwi Seeds won the Indica Cup with Mt Cook
DNA won the glass cup, roor was my fav they got 2nd

Get a grip you few haters... A judges pass gets you into a few concerts and a couple exclusive parties for no charge. It is not just the weed....

I did the hole Judge thing. Bought almost every entry. And Green Place is my persenol new hot spot. When any of you go to the Dam, make shure to stop there. All names on the list where good to real good quality. I smoked some super Chocolope La conf Ice from them.

Ok guys, don't worry, I am here to clear up the rumors.
yes we sold bubble mania for 65Euro a gram in 2007! it was over 80% thc and we din't force anyone to buy it, sorry. better yet, we were selling it at 0.1gr for 6.5 euro.. BIG DEAL, nobody forced anyone to buy it. furthermore that was 2007 not 2008, and we sold a judge pack in 2007 for:
25 euro which included:
1 gr. super silver haze
+ 0.2 gr bubble mania
+ 1 gr import hash entry
+ a goodie bag with a retail value of more than 15 euro.
this year, for 10 euro we sold:
1gr super lemon haze
0.5 gr gh super polm
.3 gr gh ice
1 strain hunters dvd
1 hat
and lots of other goodies
damn what a rip off eyh, 10 euro for all that, what were we thinking!
I personally gave away more than 350 joints of pure super lemon haze. that was just me, imagine how much we gave away in total. free smoke in all the greenhouse free shuttle buses.
Then we gave all the judges FREE BREAKFAST at the greenhouse with a judge pass for all 5 days!! sorry again for the free stuff... haha
If you visited our booth in the expo, franco was giving away as much as he could, and don't forget 15 hours a day, 6 days intotal free 5meter vaporizer for everyone to try the entry in our shops and in the expo. we also had free VEDAMPER hits in the shop. oh yeah and franco rolled about 50 X 1 meter long joints in the 5 days....which you could smoke for free.
excuse us for trying to make the event more pleasant for judges and giving them back what they paid for. I don't think you realise how much it costs to rent 2 venue's for 3000 people for 5 days. they just happen to be 2 of amsterdams most expensive venue's!
the judges and competitors that return every year are the one's that keep this event alive! its the best cannabis event in the world, there is no denying that.
I had lots of fun with all the judges and I met some guys from the forums. I hope to see you all again next year and thanks for the good vibrations! this is what its all about, meeting people, and celebrating the herb, not complaining and bitching about others. if you don'tl like what other people do, do something better yourself!
P.S. nobody gave arjan his empire of coffeeshops, merchandise and seed company. he built them up from scratch. before you want to complain about that, try to accomplish the same that he has in your own town, or in our town. good luck. i know i could never do that.

I wasn't impressed with the HTCC management in 2007, but I can't see how anyone can realate that to be an attack on the coffeeshops. I happily bought the 2007 25 euro pack from GH, enjoyed the free SSH spliffs so much I voted for it. Even maaged to get a word with Arjan during his grow seminar. I firmly believe the coffeshops make the HTCC the event that it is, but the HT part is just a private party to make themselves feel good.
If that makes me a so called hater then booo hooo and I'll just visit Amsterdam at other times of the year.

Thanks for the giant vape hit of the lemon haze on thursday morning at the powerzone franco! Good stuff....
My impressions of the cup were good vibes, great bands & a wonderful celebration of ganja.
On the otherside I think that THSeeds Hempworks deserved to win best product for the virtual ispliff. & I also think they should have won best booth for the great video bong hits & constant SNOBhits of the mk ultra the RAMBO & the MKash hash........ looks like they sold a lot of hoodlambs though by the amount of people wearing them......

I dont think anyone can deny that Greenhouse and Barneys put in a huge effort and really do make the cup much more fun and worth the money... they not only give away a ton of pot but Greenhouse always has a party, sometimes more than 1 and they have entertainment etc. Barneys also holds a party and now DNA seems to be following along and putting together a party and what not. These things are not cheap FOR SURE and they do make the cup much more fun. I hope more and more places put in more effort like this. I am a regular now, I have been to 4 cups and the last 3 in a row. They are fun.
You also gotta admit, the participants wouldnt put in the money if they dont make it back and more. thats just simple business
and of course it would be kinda nice to see someone else other than Barneys and Greenhouse win once in a while, but as long as the herb that wins is pretty nice then I think its not that big of an issue. Eventually someone else will win, you see some smaller places and companies winning the other awards... it will someday happen. (and last year could have been the year for a new winner but it just didnt turn out for the DNA guys, still you gotta give it up to them, they put in a really respectable effort last year and this year as well)
the cup is a good time, and its not perfect but what is, I love the cup and for cannabis there isnt really much else out there that is anywhere near as fun or well produced. Amsterdam is also changing and someday we may not even be able to have an event as good as it is now. Enjoy it while it lasts
I personally really like the new GH and I ate breakfast there a couple times and hung out there late at night (I also got the 10E bag and it was by far the best deal of the cup) smoked the entire .5 ICE hash entry and enjoyed it. The lemon haze was nice, even if it wasnt your favorite you gotta admit it was nice

I am happy that franco had a grand time ... notice that he took pics of basically all the booths and surroundings. I think he's truly for the weed and the people of the weed. This isn't the GH forum so lets allow franco his thread ... If I can behave (for the most part) it can't be that difficult ...
Franco is passionate about his biz.... A real "Good Energy" person. Arjan praised the Growers in his C Cup acceptance. It was a good tribute, and he has it right on....
It is all bizness, and one can expect some drama, but there IS enormous positive energy put into the Cup....

Back at you! I am in NO WAY a self absorbed wannabe know it all. I do consider myself to be an ACTIVIST. I put my ass on the line all the time to try and help med patients in need. I have never stated that I know it all. But I do know a thing or 2 about the HTCC as I have attended a few over the years. You DON'T know me what so ever! I am NO FAN of the HTCC as I think that those paying to be a judge should get their samples included. I hope that the folks from HT come to my event next year so that they can see how a proper cup and expo should be done.
