How has that worked out, kittens can warm your heart, plus they can hiss and spit:)

the four newest are as wild as leopards! if i get within twenty feet of them while they are out playing, they disappear like magic. POOF! the first litter of 5 are getting to be real PITAs, wanting to be held/petted/fed . THEY cut into "production", lol. two of the four latest have stub tails like a bobcat & are polydactyl.....:D

For some, little kitties are like magnets, they draw you to them. That's good some are becoming familiar with human contact.
Without thinking I grabbed a feral kitten in the warehouse at my place of work. It was sleeping on top of a barrel. It bit me through my thumb nail, that hurt.
It started out with one cat at work and ended up with double digit number of cats. It wasn't until one of the young cats got killed, when it fell asleep within a forklift. That's when the foreman asked the SPCA for help.
They were out of control in the warehouse and it was a large warehouse, big enough to bring trains in.
It must be a tough life for many feral cats.
I like stubby tail cats, I wonder do they jump as well, do they have the balance?

good question ! lack of a tail doesn't seem to bother bobcats at all... the momma cat came out of hiding on Friday, and marched up to me demanding food/petting. next thing i knew, all of the little ones came crawling out & let me pick them up. "if mom says he's okay, it must be safe" :cathug:

It's a good thing they have a friendly person on their side. Momma cat let's her babies know who they can trust.
I am a cat lover and an animal lover all round, makes me feel good when I hear of people looking out for them:)

i finally caught the last holdout of the kittens yesterday. i'm glad it's still tiny, because the scratching/biting that ensued would have resulted in stitches instead of my laughter/admiration if it was half-grown... if it wants to stay "wild", i'm not gonna push it. probably have better odds of survival that way. got coyotes etc all over the place there...
