i'd like to see a report to find out how much the US gov't is making off of cash and bank account siezures, as well as restitution and probation fee's....

i'm begining to think that MJ is our government's biggest cash crop as well...

Legalization would bring the pices down greatly but the government would be the first one with thier hand out.The current tax rate seems to be $3.50 a gram, based on the marijuana tax stamps that are currently issued. That's about $90 an ounce just in taxes.
The good reasons to grow your own weed are endless.

Making it a co-op based culture would be very cool. And I know cannabis wont cure the worlds problems but it can help with a lot.

The war on drugs is just a great big roundup of resources and $$$$$ for the gov. how much have they actually siezed in $$$$ realestate...everything under the sun has been confinscated... where is it now? how much? whos in charge of keeping trackof what they sieze and what to do with it? these are the things that i think keep it illeagal... the GOVERNMENT MAKES WAY MORE $$$$$ and useable resources with it being illegal.. like someone said... if it was legal. prices would come down...competition would go up...the government cant compete, doest have to...makes more $$$$$ than you or i COULD IMAGIN$$$$$ with it like this...untill the government figures out a way to supplement the loss of that yearly income of so called DRUG RAIDS, in my opinion it will STAY illeagal... too much $$$$$ involved 4 the gov to loose w/ it set up this way. to us it looks like the war on drugs isnt working.... well...in my opinion, it is going right along as planned by the gov... perfectly... our GOVERNMENT, the biggest drug dealers out there... like JLP said... the dealers get rich, while the growers get pennies. something to that effect, sorry for the miss Q, JLP....
anyhow if it were leagal...100%... I'd still GROW MY OWN !!! WE WILL NEVER KNOW the real amount of annual income our gov. makes off of its " war on drugs"... sounds to me like its going right according to plans for our gov. they drive up prices, make an un imaginable amount of $$$ and resources... that the gov is not held accountable for??? sounds like they couldnt have set it up better, for themselves of corse.
anyways... i still think id rather be here than anywhere else!?! so, i grow my own!
and i am Gr3atful for the opportunity and means.
Peace
joe

I dont see why your weed prices would fall if it gets legal.govt are for sure gonna keep them prices up for more money in the big account!

they make money on both ends..its more profitable to the powers that be for it not to be legal

and the government doesnt want the money associated with cannabis??? why??? you figured they would distribute just for the money. (they would make way more money distrubuting it than the fines n such they issue)

I don't see how mj can be taxed properly. They could still only tax the legal outlets..and its not like with alcohol. Anyone can grow pot...there would be so much pot everywhere..taxing would be a joke. And i doubt taxed bud could compete with untaxed price wise...

Time to bring back the $10 ounce! When the Jefferson Airplane sang "Sometimes it sells for 65 dollars, prices like that make a grown man holler!" They were talking Kilos! I remember $55 dollar kilos! - Granny

I'd love to see cannabis fields instead of corn and soybeans... damn... hard to even imagine... 640 acre sea of green... I've got Sour D in the lower 40... Trainwreck in the front 120...

We're sitting here snickering, and the pigs are trying to figure out how to make the net worth of US Cannabis look like it's all terrorism money, I can just feel it :jerkit:
I wonder how long it'll be before a new anti-pot commercial comes out declaring herb-growing a moral epidemic or some other bullshit excuse to encourage the spread of more disinformation and fear.

But on the bright side...
:woohoo:
God bless American herb production!

It's definently time for the USA to realize The potential of Marijuana, make it legal , tax it and then they'll have more money to fund their stupid war,as well as taking it's sales and distribution out of the hands of criminals(the people who should be behind bars)Man it's a fact , alot of Americans like to smoke their pot, even those who only smoke at parties and shit..Weed is here to stay and the more they try to prohibit people from partaking , the better the situation for the real criminals. It seems like common sense to us but when has our government ever used any of that.....the only thing I hope DOESN'T happen is a backlash from our government , who after realizing they are failing in the war on drugs, decides to enact laws even tougher and harsher, using methods even more devious and secretive to detect someone's garden than they already do. They are already practically pissing on the bill of rights already.

I think they are overestimating the value. I think they do that at most busts too. They base it on sales of 1/8; and the weight of whole plant just pulled as weight. Looks better for them.

There was also a big special on how the Prohibition of Drugs was ruining our country on the History channel it was so pro cannabis I was laughing my ass of.
*edit*
i realized this sounds retarded but this means people are taking notice really this could be the beginning of legalization there is so much money in it imagine weed ending our national debt. because thats how much were growing now just imagine.
