Canfan/Filter combo?

Hey all, im looking at supplies to expand my grow room and this includes 2 new complete light setups, a new fan and a bigger filter. Im looking at the vortex fans and of course a CAN filter, but im curious as to how well the CAN 6" combo works and how quiet it is? Also would it be able to cool 2 1k lights as well as filter the dirty air?

Should be fine if you are running them in hoods and room temps are within reason. You need to be pulling in cool air to balance everything out. Key is airflow and proper intake of a fresh air source either outside air, or cooled with an air conditioner.

I keep my room on the cool side at all times. Low 60's, so the air I pull into a cab is well below the level that is produced by the light even with the exhaust going back into the same room. I can keep temps anywhere from ambient up to mid 70's with a little adjustment to the speed control.

yes I will be pulling through a rather large passive intake grill. room is in the basement and being in a higher altitude keeps temps pretty constant thank god!

Exactly what filter and fan combo...are we talking Can Fan 6" (269cfm) or Can Fan 6" HO (392cfm)?

what are the measurements of your room (w x l x h) or total cubic volume?

For air-cooling air-coolable hoods,300-440cfm per 1,000 I believe but I could be wrong. It is always wiser to buy a fan that is more powerful then you think you need and run it on a solid state speed controller at 25%-50% power/speed...if you find that isn't enough then you can always turn it up 75%-100% power/speed.

room is 12x12x8 and I will be needing to cool 2k in lights on a light mover as well as filter smell. I would like to keep the 6" fashion I have goin, although I dont think it will be enough according to your calculations. Would you recommend individual fans for the lights and a dedicated fan for the filter?

good drown

i would go bigger. i use a vortex 8 and can 100 for my 12x3 and 2 600s. i am using the filter after my fan, outside the room though. i keep it at full speed and temps 6" under lights are 84 if the outside room is 74. i would at least go with a big filter like the 100 or bigger

damn a can100?? thats a HUGE filter for that space dont you think? ambient temps in the basement are realatively low... so using that to my advantage would you think i still need the larger fan?
