Is an 85 year old dying in a nursing home the same as child being blown up by a bomb?
you do know that 80% of the covid deaths were people over 75 with pre existing conditions...
what we really need to discuss is excess mortality....

nearly half a million people die every year...
again ur statement seem viable but when u look deeper it’s lies

A coup without a single gun? Seems silly

Oh so it's okay people died from Covid because they were over 75 and had pre existing conditions? Well guess what "********" there are plenty of people with pre existing conditions that live well into their 80's and 90's, just because they're old or have a pre existing condition doesn't make their life any less precious then that of a child being blown up by a bomb. And yeah maybe there are half a million that die every year maybe even more, ********* this is over half a million in addition to that yearly half a million. Many of which didn't have to die if the handling of the pandemic wasn't bungled by an incompetent President who thinks ingesting or injecting bleach is a fine way to treat a pandemic.

AS for the coup, actually there were guns there fortunately they got intercepted before the riot started. Also there were the guns of the cops many of which the rioters were desperately trying to take off the cops after they beat them down to the ground with pipes from the scaffolding that was there in preparation of the upcoming inauguration they were trying to stop. You don't need guns to have a coup, they can make a coup easier but all you really need is a larger force willing to do whatever it takes.

are you really innocent if you plan on overturning an election based on no evidence and all feelings?

I thought it was facts before feelings?

because they are trumpers. same reason why the proud boys collaborate with local police. they're all on the same side.

Not 100% innocent, but after months of Antifa and blm destroying small mom and pop stores I'm sure she didn't think she would die for trespassing. Personally I have no respect for politicians (both dems and rino's) after all the damage they did to this country for the last 60+ years. And personally I think the dems which control DC wanted the riot to make Trump supporters look bad and push the insurrection story. It makes no sense that the cops who let them in never got punished which tells me it was planned. If it was really a resurrection it would have been a bloodbath with thousands dead.

what talking points might those be?

how is calling for an investigation into the insurrection causing division?

much of the division comes from the far right. you can't win when it comes to policy, so you stoke the flames of division and block everything in congress. this is why your party nonstop covers irrelevant culture war topics to scare all you reactionary boomer brains into submission.

Democrats have the house and senate if they really want an investigation they can get it done. I see it as another waste of money. And im a millennial, I'm probably younger than you.

They're were plenty of weapons there, just not a lot of guns because DC is very strict about gun control ever since Republican Congressman Steve Scalise got shot while playing baseball by a disturbed leftwing political activist. Any blunt object though that can be used to strike people is a weapon and there were lots of those kinds of weapons in use. I mean come on dude you sound like that dipshit Congressman trying to tell people they didn't really see what they saw and that the rioters were nice peaceful people just strolling thru the Capital Building and taking pictures. Unfortunately we have seen what we've seen and not just here but all over the world and we even saw that very same Congressman who is saying how friendly the protestors were, scare shitless and helping several other barricade a door those "peaceful people" were trying to force open. Try as hard as you like but you're not going to be able to put lipstick on that pig.

TLTR (too long to read) but I skimmed through.

So your telling me Trump supporters planned an illegal insurrection but they didn't want to break the law and bring their guns? Lol OK bro.

Do we really know that Antifa or BLM were responsible for destroying/looting those businesses? Or was that the work of people taking advantage of the chaos to benefit themselves or their own personal agendas. I don't really know since I wasn't there at any of those events but I did see a lot of things in the news coverage that make you wonder. I don't want to really use the same tactic as some republicans have used and claim it was people posing as Antifa or BLM but I did see one report about someone dressed all in black who smashed glass windows in storefronts that didn't go in but encouraged others to and then allegedly it was later discovered he was an off duty cop. I don't know if that's true but in the video I saw he was definitely busting windows and inviting others to go in but he himself did not which seemed rather odd. In another case I saw some white guy busting up a curb to make throwable chunks of rock and then the people clearly part of the protest pounced on him and turned him over to the police.

This is a strange time we're in and there are all sorts of characters out there taking advantage of and/or manipulating these events with the apparent intention of influencing public perception. I think the same thing happened with Jan. 6th. I do feel Trump and some other Republican politicians did fan the flames and riled people up but I'm not convinced they intended for people to storm the Capital building the way they did. I've seen more evidence to suggest groups like the Proud Boys manipulated things to make the attack on the Capital Building happen and they just used the Trump supporters as unsuspecting cannon fodder to take most of the blame. Pretty much all the evidence they've found online that hints at pre planning and coordinating seem to point to these militia groups while the vast majority of those commiting violence and vandalism on the Capital appear to be Trump supporters that just got caught up in the frenzy of the moment. Not that they are free of blame or responsibility of their actions but I'm willing to bet if those militia groups never got involved things would have never gone as far as they did.

No what I'm telling you is some of them tried but they got caught before things went too far, like before anyone ever got to the Capital Building. Then again this is the kind of misinterpretation I would expect from someone too intellectually lazy to read a full paragraph. If all you're going to do is skim thru and cherry pick the parts you think suit your POV I'd rather you just keep your opinions to yourself.

Actually not true, yes the Democrats technically hold the majority but just by 1 vote in the senate and only a handful in the House. That's too slim of a majority to insure they can force everything they want. Sure there is the idea of killing the filibuster which would make it easier for them to push things thru but not all Democrats (including the President) want to do that because they know that if they do when the Republicans gain control in the future it will come back to bite them in the ass if they do.

They came from peoples' cars. I posted weapons found in two different arrestees' cars within steps from the capital (illegal).

I bet those were isolated incidents, right? You know, people with their firearms in closely accessible places.

It's not a far reach to imagine that if those pipe bombs went off, those guns would have come out of storage. Law enforcement was already overwhelmed. They just needed a little more chaos.

What's on that dudes hip in the picture you reposted? I'm referring to the guy running through the capital building with the zip tie handcuffs.

A zip tie is not a gun.. FYI
and finding guns in people’s vehicles parked on the street isn’t armed rioters inside the capitol.

ok I’m glad we all agree (you me and the head of the capitol police) that no guns were found on persons inside the capitol....
im not big on re imagining a real life scenario to make it a more criminal act... this holds no value to me..

but I wouldn’t have been suprised if one (or all) of the rioters had brought a gun with them... I would expect anyone storming any building guarded by armed men would want to be able to return fire...
But the facts of the case dont support my expectations... such is life..
thats why imo it was a riot of dullards

imho a child being blown up by a bomb is more tragic and more of a loss than an 85 year old dying in a nursing home..
I would think this is simple to see... but I’ll explain my reasoning for you.
it’s the percentage of life lost... one loses 90% or more of their life expectancy (the child killed by bomb)..

but when an 85 year old dies in a nursing home they lose less than 1% of their life expectancy.
90% compared to 1%
lived a full life vs didn’t get a chance to grow up..

as for trump causing covid death... I would posit the rest of the world as a counter argument...was trump somehow responsible for the rest of the world having covid issue?
And if so, how?

insurrection
noun [ C or U ]

us
/ˌɪn.sɚˈek.ʃən/ uk
/ˌɪn.sərˈek.ʃən/

an organized attempt by a group of people to defeat their government and take control of their country, usually by violence:

So an organized group didn't try to overturn the results of the election based on absolutely nothing? Of course they did.

So many of you think in black and white.... "it's not fascism cuz theyre not doing a hitler!" "its not an insurrection, only one gun was found!"

the goalpost moving is astounding. i've said once before - some of you will be asking "how is this fascism?" on the line to the concentration camps lol.

you see it as a waste of money because you don't think anything bad happened lol. can't wait for 2030 incumbent president tucker carlson to lead the successful coup because nothing was done about Jan 6th to stop it from happening again in the future.

- Property damage attributed to BLM & Antifa (i'll be generous here and say it's all 100% their fault) - Over $1 billion in riot insurance

- Settlements from the NYPD due to police abuse only from the last 5 years of data (this is ONLY the NYPD mind you) - Over $1 billion taxpayer dollars

you're mad at the symptoms (riots) of the problem, rather than the causes (police, systemic racism)

I honestly believe the democrats hold the black community back with their policies (12 dollars for a pack of cigarettes in Chicago for example compared to 5.50 where I live, higher rent, higher gas price, higher income taxes, and I could go on). All which hurts poorer communities. Then they find some wannabe cowboy cop, put him on the news and say look it's their fault. I don't know a single democrat in power who tries to bring good jobs to black communities, instead they barely give them enough to survive hoping for their votes in return.

If you think lower cigarette prices would help the African American community you are on the wrong wave length.

Words have meanings comrade, you can’t just redefine any words you feel like and then expect people to have an understanding of what ur talking about.
boomer is a reference to the baby boomer generation... which includes many liberals

Then you suffer from either cognitive dissonance or you are lacking in understanding of how our government works. If all it took was one party to hold a majority then a bill would have passed yesterday to establish a bipartisan commission to investigate what allowed the Jan. 6th attack on the Capital building to occur. Unfortunately it takes more of a democrat majority then what we have. We do have a clear democrat majority in the house and as a result virtually every bill the house has worked on that democrats have wanted has passed. Unfortunately the House really just establishes bills, it's the senate that makes them into laws. In the senate democrats don't really have a majority they have a tie. It only gets called a majority because the Vice President who is the President of the senate counts as a potentially tie breaking vote and being she is a democrat she would typically vote in favor of democrat initiatives. Unfortunately there is still two more hurdles to clear in the senate. First the democrats are not all on the same page and the result is there often isn't 50 democrats willing to vote the same on many of the bills reaching the senate. There would need to be a full 50 democrat consensus in order to have a shot at a bill becoming law. That would be if all laws could be passed with a simple majority, then and only then would 50 votes from all the democrats plus one more from the Vice President enable a bill to become law. Unfortunately to become law requires a super majority which means along with 50 democrats there would need to be 10 republicans willing to vote the same way as the democrats. Unfortunately as usual the republicans are content to be obstructionists which means they just block every democrat initiative and never offer a reasonable counter solution of their own for the full senate to negotiate and debate on. As it stands now there are 3 or 4 republicans that represent states that are majority democrat aka blue states so usually 3 or 4 will go along with a bill that republicans oppose, in order to be able to satisfy their constituents. Since this is far short of the 10 republican votes that would be needed if all 50 democrats were on the dame page, republican leadership usually allows these few republicans to vote the way they do. If however there is even a slight chance 10 republicans would vote along with 50 democrats, then republican leadership turns up the pressure and can usually succeed in getting these few republicans to vote against the wishes of their constituency. All this is due to what is known as the filibuster which brings us to the second problem. The filibuster is a relic of our early system of government and isn't even used the way it used to be when it was more relevant. Now a days it more or just allows a party to stop a bill from being debated on and potentially winning over opposing votes. If a party can demonstrate that initially there are not enough votes for a super majority. Back in the day in order to stop debate and initiate a filibuster at least one senator would have to hold the floor and talk non stop without relinquishing control of the floor. This is illustrated in the classic Jimmy Stewart movie "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington". Over the years though it's been altered to where nobody has to suffer the inconvenience of potentially holding the floor for potentially days. Even as it is represented in that classic film was a perversion of what it was meant to be. What it was really meant to be was that one senator could stop a bill from being debated by holding the floor and talking non stop but only if what he or she talked about was why a bill shouldn't be passed as it is represented in the movie though it was already perverted to where the senator could just talk about virtually anything even if it had nothing to do with the bill in question. The solution then would be to do away with the filibuster so that then and only then a simple majority could pass a bill. Doing away with the filibuster is something also known as the nuclear option and it is a potential solution the Senate majority leader could invoke if he or she had sufficient support from his or her fellow senators. We saw this happen back in the early days of the first Obama administration when republican who were in the minority also operate as obstructionists by blocking any federal or judicial appointments the democrat tried to make. Then majority leader invoked the nuclear option but just on votes for appointments. This came back to haunt democrats later when the republicans gain controlled and used this change to ram thru any nomination the republican wanted. After seeing how republicans used the invoking of the nuclear option so effectively to their advantage there is now a fear among democrats to full remove the filibuster, fearing republicans would then be able to ram thru any legislation they wanted. With such power the republicans could set the country back decades by unraveling civil rights, making abortions totally illegal, eliminating or at least severely watering down social security and medicare and those are just the most obvious things republicans would be likely to attack. As a result there are at least a few senators and the president that are reluctant to eliminate the filibuster because they're thinking long term, even though most of the current democrats are in favor of it only thinking of the potential short term gains they could achieve, most of which are things supported by a majority of the nation's citizens.

Of course like before you're likely just going to skim thru all that and end up ignoring it so I realize I've wasted my time explaining all this to you. I realize you are content to continue political existence in your little echo chamber and as such all of this will be lost on you. Of course since I knew that going in, I didn't explain all that just for you but rather for any thoughtful individual that might take the time to read it and engage in meaningful discussion. Have a wonderful day.
