I was just pointing out the reality that it maybe too short of a time frame to logistically pull off. It's not negativity, it's experience from doing similar for a couple of charity events. It is a lot more work then you are giving credit for.

would be fun if it could be pulled off but may be more realistic to pre plan for next year to do it right.

Its member response that could make this happen, 42 positive votes so far just isnt enough, 4200 would be more like it, maybe! Im surprised more havent voted sooner! you'd think everyone on the site would have a few quid on it!

lol, fair play, floggin a dead horse atm it seems, maybe if more people vote, there's a better chance of something happening next year, its feedback for the boss & the man from del'monte! twas the general idea to roll a ball, so to speak, or plant a seed. it's a awesome idea and a even better prize but how do you make it fair to all members?
it costs significantly less to acomidate members in lots of parts of europe while A U.S. member would need a 2000 $ plane ticket and room and board. It would be great if admin agreed to this but I dont see it happening.

People that would like to take part in such a scheme should vote, either its me or theres alot of nutty people on here that dont see it quite the same as i do, maybe it wont happen this year but maybe it will. Either way its good feedback for the Boss! maybe next year with the right interest, but as you say Yort, you never know!

I think the gestures from the 3 or 4 people that have offered packs of seeds toward any prizes(+cash entries) just goes to show the potential is there & these people should be proud of themselves, there a credit to the site, real people are usually kind!

150,000 members.............a least half of them multiple nicks........easy..........thats around 70,000 actual members...........over half again arent regulars...........what are we down too?Oh.......25,000 members.......at least half of them aint interested in sendin 5 bucks in for a 1/50000 chance........that leaves us 10000 members who Maybe interested,at least half of them dont check in at least once a month......so TOPS youll get 2 or 3 thousand interested(tops) at 5 bucks a piece there aint enuf money to do much and certainly not enuf to get Gypsys attention.

If the prize was right & it was done at the right time with the right marketing/advertising, im pretty sure it would be a different story!

I think its a really good idea. There is alot of us out there who wish they could make it out there, but its not in the budget. I would pay good money per ticket and buy multiple for chance to win a trip to the cup, and even if I didnt win, Id have the satisfaction of knowing us members sent one of us to the cup who wasnt going to be able to make it. The possiblitys are endless and there is money that can be made from a raffle like this. As long as its fair, I dont see why It wouldnt be just another of the reasons I call I.C. MAG my 2nd home.

It's a great idea in principle.. unfortunately legally it's a minefield, at least here in the UK, as the Gambling Commission have strict rules against what they deem lotteries.. and this would probably end up in that category.

Would love it to work out tho..
