I used to be against this rule but that's cuz my threads kept getting closed, not cuz I have a leg to stand on
People shouldn't have to hide the source of their meds or be cryptic about it or at least thats the way I see it.
I guess you don't see it then. This site is a commercial (money making) enterprise. The sharing of information is just incidental. Sort of like a movie theater where you are not allowed to bring in your own refreshments. Why? Because the theater is there to make money for it's owners. They don't care about the movies. It's not art to them, it's just a product that makes money, and anything that has even the slightest chance of cutting into profits is bad. Much like the war on drugs, and pretty much everything else, it's all about money. Don't delude yourself into thinking that the owners of this site are providing a public service.
Fortunately, there are plenty of other similar sites (i.e., all but this one) that allow free discussion. If you want to get or share information not allowed here, there's plenty of other places to go.
Don't get me wrong. ICMag is the best site of its kind on the internet today. Hands down. This is a great community with lots of knowledgeable people willing to share their knowledge. I've learned a lot here and keep coming back. And I certainly do understand having to pay the bills.
I guess it's just that censorship of any kind really irks me. If the intention is to steer me toward certain vendors, then suppressing information about competitors is NOT the way to do it. At least not with me (can't speak for anyone else). I try to be an informed and responsible consumer. That means I like to have as much information as possible before spending my hard-earned money. And it also means that I don't spend my money supporting organizations whose actions or policies I disagree with. But that's just me.
In short -- Love the site and the people that contribute to it, hate the censorship.
the medical forums do get a bit of slack when it comes to discussing things
that would normally breach the TOU
