Can we be busted by satellite?

Eventually they'll be able to spot them from satellites but I doubt they're doing it right now. There is software right now that will read a satellite image and compare it to a previous photo for what has changed. All automated, and the operator gets a nice list of what has changed.

If its still illegal in 20 years, it could be a matter of the local police getting a message from the "all seeing eye" with an address, how many plants are growing, exactly where, etc...

The consumer version of images is about 1 meter per pixel, so an individual plant wouldn't be seen, but I'm sure the government isn't using 1 meter resolution.

I found some grows in the woods nearby by looking at the paths created by the growers on google earth and could zoom in pretty close actually, I left the plants alone of course as they were just in veg last year but I did find them, could have taken them if I was a ripper. Snake trails are very obvious from satellite out in the middle of the woods leading to a bright green patch. ;)

I heard that if you wear tinfoil on your head. The radar can't
find you and the signal will bounce back up to the satellite.
Only, if someone sees you wearing tinfoil too often they
will call Nasa and tell them aliens live next door.

:laughing::laughing:

But seriously, as long as you don't have more than ten plants
in any one location it's pretty hard to see. Even from a helicopter
near the ground. I've been in a helicopter and what you see real fast
is not plants, etc. What you see is the shadows made by someone
walking in the grass, etc. When you walk in the grass you break it
and it leaves a shadow.

For example, ever walk on a really wet lawn after a rain?
You can see your trail, right. Well, when you break vegetation
by walking they see the trails. Ask anyone who's been in a low
flying helicopter or plane and I'm sure they'll agree it's the trails
that catches their attention and not plants, etc.

That's why it's a very good idea to find locations near
rocky hills and walk on the rocks to lose your trail. No
matter how big you are, you won't leave a trail. Taking
a water vehicle also works to elminate trails. Just don't
enter land in the same location every time.

The technology is out there, but I think it's in very limited hands. I believe it's used more by the military than anything.
Honestly I don't think the government is going to comb every square inch of the States looking for a weed patch. Maybe look for the acres upon acres but some small scale 10 plant or so plot...doubtful. Then again we are talking about the feds and they spend outrageous sums of money on some of the most stupid shit I have ever seen.

also try Bing maps. they have a birds eye option available for certain areas that is kinda scary of what you see available to us regular citizen's.

Ever try Google maps with the street version? It's only available in certain area's and it's done by a truck that cruises around.
Had an issue a couple years back with someone from a different area. Sold me a bunch of tickets over the phone/internet. I knew by meeting him once what kind of car he drove and what neighborhood he lived in. Found his house on Google street search. Just 'cruised' in the truck via the internet around his area and bingo car was sitting in the driveway. Called him up, he started with the ticket selling again probably thinking I wouldn't find him. I explained in detail his house and both his neighbors and he shut up real quick and hung up. Yea the maps can work with you or against you.
