leaf will get you quite ripped, so yes. Go a month without smoking any bud (if you can) and then quick dry some leaf and smoke it....you will be saying to yourself, "damn I'm blazed, crap I'm lit" lol.

Especially one male mikado that i smoked just out of curiosity.

But that was a long, long time ago - stuff I grow now days just doesn't seem to have the same impact and the leaves don't do anything.

Cannabinoids inc THC are only found and produced in trichomes , specifically in the glandular trichomes as these are the only sites of cannabinoid production and storage of the plant.Non-glandular trichomes (cystolith hair) do not contain any cannabinoids.

Leaves even from plants in veg have glandular trichomes and thats why you can get high from leaf.These are easily seen under high magnification.

I know that smoking bud leaf will get you high to some degree because it still contains trichomes. And male plants do produce a bit of trichs, just far less than females. I am leaning towards what l33t said in his post, that the trichomes are the only parts of the plant where cannabinoids are produced, and is the source of the effects that we feel when using cannabis.. I wish i had access to some fanleaves to see whether or not it has any effects.

Nope, there are some also in leaves, small bud leaves being the most potent.

I remember that during the 90s, I grew some Thai & Durban Poison landraces. I had two males of which I smoked the top leaves. Both were quite potent, with a nice fruity flavour, and produced a very nice stimulating giggly high. Much better than most of the buds you can get in my town. So good actually some buddies begged for me to sell them some of it. I prefered to give them a few joints and keep it all for me, so good it was, eheh...

Yes leaves can contain trichomes and will get you high and they are found in both male and female plants but like most are saying, unless you get the smaller leaves you are going to have a lot of chlorophyl which often gives headaches and upset stomachs from using too much leaf matter (from the bigger fan leaves)
Selction of plant parts and the technique used is key to how potent this will be. There are many other active ingredients besides thc being discussed here.

This is why so many growers are selective in using their trimmings.
Otherwise it would seem like such a waste of time and good growers don't have that much time to waste.

It does contain active compounds. A nice thing to do is to treat the trim along with the fan leaves the same way you would cure and produce tobacco. Add flavorings (whisky or whatever floats your boat), glycerin (makes it burn better) and let it ferment. Sweat, dry and then enjoy! A perfect tobacco free substitute when rolling joints or even to be enjoyed as is. Hookah molasses perhaps?

i believed right up through too my teens that dope was meant to have both pistillate and staminate(flowers or hairs) and the single sexs were beyond the norm(closet cultivator fixed that)
his hermi shwag was the bomb killer gear and that was just the leaf never got to try any buds he made ghee with that

I wish I had medicated ghee, I should make some, I have a fat tub of homemade unmedicated stuff. it keeps for yearssssss and never changes in flavor however keeping it for years with cannabinoids in it may cause them to deteriorate and break down

Im being dead serious. I have two uncles that do this. It really humors me you dont believe it because I too find it to be hilarious.

They arent growers or anything. They just toss seeds in the ground (during winter of all times) they flower tiny plants and never heed my advice on growing and planting during the right time.

EVERY leaf off the plant they smoke. My mother even tells me when I show her my cannabis plants in veg,"thats alot to smoke". I respond "what are you talking about these are just leaves you smoke "buds" or flowers of the plant It's just growing now" and she says "oh, your uncles always used to smoke the leaves every time I saw them".

I showed her them in flower and told her thats what you the "buds" and all the shiny things are "trichromes" thats the medicine. She also asked what i do with my fan leaves, i then pointed on the lawn to a dried pile I plucked and tossed.

Keep in mind some leaves have as many trichromes as flowers do, but I assume youre referring to fat petiole fan leaves.
