Can the auto-flowering thing be bred out?

When you cross a photoperiod plant with a auto one you will get photoperiods then.

Are there any really good Autos available as regulars? Because all(most) the commercial breeders want you to buy FEM seeds on and on, especially Autos.

You can get photo plants to auto if you leave them pot/root bound .

Sure but the nutrients are then gone too. And you got a super small plant then also so there is no point doing this except for outing regular plants. When you are repotting them in fresh soil they will probably go back to veg.

You can just order any regular autoflower seeds and grow them out, pollinate those females with the male pollen and get hundreds and hundreds of new regular autoflowering seeds.

Pretty slim pickings for auto regs these days.

Auto's are a waste of electric, plant a reg photo plant on 18/6 for 3-4 week and save have the power flowering to get better results and most likely a better quality smoke. and you can keep the best plant with clones instead on uncertain breeding with auto's. Good outdoors, but indoors they waste more .
