OK , I had this plant that started to show this weird growth.
I'm on the 8th week of flowering running mostly Jack Flash but the plant in question is a White Widow.

It seems it has these strange seed-looking growth on all calyxes.
I would of course think that it had hermied or something but it just doesn't feel right as the seed-looking thing has hairs growing out of it !?
Now it might just be seeded and I'm f****d or it might be something else.

I have spent two days looking at pictures and searching IC but no definitive answer , even found a couple of posts discussing the same thing but it went unresolved. I´d love to figure out what going on here!?

The plant in question has been culled but after removing that plant I noticed the same growth on other plants , different strain.
While the first plant had this on all calyxes I can only find like 2-3 of these on the rest of my grow. . . . . . as of yet. So , I thought I had some other plant hermie-ing....

I have spent hours looking for any male parts , cant find any.
Keep in mind that this growth does not necessarily appear only where the pistils have withered as would happen with seeding , this is quite apparent in the last photo. (Seed looking thing with white hairs)

Obviously it might be the way a seeded plant would behave and look but I´d love for someone to just tell me so. However , after seeing posts discussing the same thing and no one really just coming out and saying " its a seeded plant! " just makes it a mystery to me.

It´s the lack of experience and not knowing if my crop is seeded or not that's getting to me.:drum:

Here are a few pictures.

Its the pistils coming out of the strange growth that are the issue.
!

On this first one you can see the growth clearly, although the hairs have dropped of most of them except the one , if you can see it.

Click for larger pictures.

On this one you can clearly see the hairs coming out .

Here I marked the areas with the hairs coming out , expand the pic and you´ll see it clearly.

Another marked one.

Another.

Now this is where it looks like a seed!?

This is the strangest one , I pulled one out and it simply looks like a seed with hairs coming out. Hairs still white and fresh!?

(Seed looking thing with white hairs)

:fsu:

Here´s a picture from another post I found here , no definitive answer to be found there either.:1help:

NOT MY PICTURE.....
But looks very similar , except in most cases white hairs.

Thanks...IC.

this could be a seed pod containing a seed..or a false seed pod which makes up most of the dense nuggs. if no males pollinated your female then your female may have self pollinated itself, the pic of the pod you pulled out looks to be 100% a premature seed !

Dankhank, I know what it could be , but not what it really is.

Does it simply look seeded to you ? Even with the hairs coming out of the seed-looking thing ?

Would a seed look like this?

And if these were just seeds, wouldn't they be more inside the calyx then on this picture ?

Just to be clear , all hairs come from the tip of these little guys.

Man I'm stumped.

yes thats a seed. the hairs are pistils. it is kind of odd that they stayed white like that

I think I see male flowers in a few of those pics you posted. the male parts can be hidden somewhere inside the bud too

Ok , its a seed then . ., Im bummed.

Would a seed still have pistils attached brown or not ?

As for the other pictures , the ones that look like male flowers actually had hairs poking out of them , dropped off due to handling . On some of the pictures I have highlighted these guys where they still have the hairs? That's what's so confusing.

At no time did the plant look suspicious as all the pods on the plant had pistils coming out , white and fresh .

Mostly my issue is the fact that the pistils were coming out of the strange growth, whats up with that ?
Never looked male to me .
