Hello

Does anyone have experience out of
Blackstrap molasses. In addition to your usual nutes in hydro/ drip system, If you have and it works great would Plantation Blackstrap molasses work fine or would you recommend some other molasses brand better. I was thinking of mix in Guanokalong liquid extract to, but only like 1-2 days every week before change the water and nutes in the rez. Would this be exaggerate the faith. Blessings

Hello forty

Does that mean a lot of cleaning out plugs and so on.? Do you also have any experience with Guanokalong liquid extract in drip system.?

not sure what you mean by plugs. it does get messy and funk residue forms in the rez. i've used it in a drip with open spaghetti lines with no probs. not sure if it would clog drip emitters or not. i don't have exp. with the liq guano stuff

you totally can.
will it clog???
my experience with hydro/recirculating systems, molasses will clog & gunk & ferment.
I added it with canna & botanicare products...

if you try it please be sure to let us know how it works.

thanks

Well I see, yes I mean the plugs= emitters. Maybe I should aim at the open spaghetti lines then. Than you my brother. Blessings

I used blackstrap for about a week in my res. I think it will provide wonders for the plant, the problem i found was that i only change my res once a week, and half way through the week the res would get a funky odor and growth happening. I discontinued it. Though i did not use an airstone and that may help prevent the funk

When i put the molasses in my rez, it would foam up, and make my rez a gunky mess. If you have the time or desire I would hand feed with it weekly. My 2 cents.

A 'plug' in the gardening sense is something on the order of a rapid rooter or rockwool starter cube with a plant sticking out of it. Generally speaking. It implies its bigger than a seedling, but smaller than a transplant. It also implies that the roots are not bare as you can buy bare root cuttings of many things [asparagus generally ships this way]

I use molasses on my moms but they are all in soil.

I tried it in the reservoir for a controller feeding a bunch of waterfarms once, and the aerobic bacteria won the battle and it was a huge mess.

The only way i'd do it again is if I could have an airlock on the res. The anaerobic bacteria dont bother me so much.

You can do this lots of ways - if your gamma ferments her pickles in a crock, see how she fills it to the top and covers it so the co2 gets out but no air gets back in.

An easy way of doing this is with some super thick plastic wrap [restaurant grade] wide enough so that it covers your res, and then put some fishtank gravel on top. I'm not sure perlite is heavy enough, and I'm not sure hydroton is fine enough. Might be too coarse. Sand would work too. Heck water would even work. The idea is you got something that pushes on the plastic so that none of the liquid is exposed to air.

I hope this makes sense. I'm posting during happy hour.

This is heavy research you share with you here brother.. Appreciate it really thank you. Sound like a lot of work, I think I´m leaning towards hand water style with the molasses. Blessings
