Can I run sativa in a 6' tent?

Yes but you have to top them really hard or do a scrog like thing
It is also better to grow them using cuttings rather tahn seedlings because then they won’t stretch so bad during flowering . or 12/12 straight from germination of the seed
Smaller containers will also limit their size
Limiting Nitrogen levels makes them stretch a bit less and also they won’t flower endlessly
Limiting light hours also help. instead of 12/12 you can do 11/13h to 10/14h (light/dark)
I’m sure more experienced indoor sativa growers will chime in
There is nice info in the ACE Seeds thread on their Old Timer’s Haze about growing OTH or any tall sativa indoors

Should be possible with root restriction, scrog and bending. Maybe plant them direct under 11/13 light cycle

With some bondage and root restriction anything is possible. Straight into flower also helps.

I’m about to find out, luckily 2 of my 4 Thai are male so the remaining females might just fit in my 2’x4’x4’11’’ space. 4 would’ve been ridiculous, not sure what I was thinking.
I vegged for 3 weeks, flipped to 12:12 for a month, and now they’ve started flowing so I’ve taken cuts to replace the discarded seed plants with which I’ll let grow a little more on 12:12 before reducing to 11 hours light and then 10.5 to finish them.
I saw raco had a good idea on the Thai thread of starting from clone with a very small amount of soil in the bottom of a medium sized pot and topping it up with new soil as it grows/stops stretching so I’ll be attempting to do the same but starting with a clone taken from a flowering plant instead.
Seemed to work well for him.

I grow sativas from seed in a 7 ft tent, and it can get dicey, but with LST and/or HST it will work.

You can't really run 12/12 on a photo from seed, unless you want a 8 inch tall plant in flower. Would work fine for autos.

Why not? The first few weeks it will grow anyway and then just starts flowering...
It will limit growth, which is a big plus for a pure sativa in a small cabinet. With 14-20 weeks flowering and huge stretching it will still be a monster. Or just go for clones ofcourse if it's still to much.
Even with shorter flowering indica's it's a option, if you settle for big buds on a stick. Just plant a few extra and you win a few weeks each turn over for the same yield.

That’s exactly what I want, I could test a whole pack at a time. Are you talking about sativas though? With >16 weeks bloom? What have you got growing?
Doesn’t get much over 12:12 where they’re from and they grow like trees.

Okay, so gauging from these replies, I definitely can run sativa in the six footer, it's just gonna take a different route than I normally take, right?
I'm willing and able to move the fan and filter combo outside of the tent too, if necessary. But overall it can be done, right? I don't wanna pay for these beans an not be able to use them.

Very small pots restrict the growth of the plant and accelerate maturation. I recently grew New Caledonia from ACE Seeds. From seedling to harvest in 2.5 months. Normally, the plant has a flowering period of 13-14 weeks + veg phase. It was similar with other sativas. I have a box less than 3 feet tall.

Don’t feed them, that seems to be what goes wrong for most people.
They like to forage in the soil as needed.
Anything is possible but maybe try panama or Panama haze first, kind of jumping in at the deep end with a pure haze or Thai.
What have you got in mind to grow?

12-12 or 11-13 from seed with a little training and you should be good.
As others have mentioned some root limiting helps too much stretch.
I wait until after sexing or partially through stretch before re potting to 5ltr.
Different hrs give me different sized plants they average 22/30" after stretching imo a nice size plant.
