Sure they can. You'll be under surveillance. And everyone they witness you selling it to can be arrested as well. The feds'll let your customers drive down the road a little way and stop 'em, search 'em, and arrest 'em. Not just the feds do this, your local narcotics task force does this as well.

Feds are especially bad about - they want the conspiracy charge, and they need to show the ongoing criminal enterprise/conspiracy for RICO.

The smaller stuff they're just out fishin........(grab you right away on controlled transactions)

The larger it gets, the more they begin to do that (to uncover entire organizations)...happens all the time with large loads grabbed on highways and such...they let load through, start to follow, put all the pieces together so they can get source, destination, and everything in between......

They also do that at extremely high levels when working into larger international organizations.....grabbing a 1,000 lb load is not the objective. Getting those responsible for sending out 500 1,000lb loads is their true objective in those cases....

The larger you get, the more it applies.....

Average person on street looking is looking at an immediate pinch....

UC LEO : cannot sell any drugs under any circumstances(witout an immediate arrest of buyer). but can use and buy any drugs.

CO: can sell/buy/use any drugs

you don't have to talk to LEO, maybe it's an acquaintance, etc.

My new coworker just got out of state prison (10 years) for growing pot. He also drove a rig to Houston and back regularly to buy/sell more pot. He got in so much trouble for growing, LEO didn't pursue the other charges involving transport and distribution from Texas.

LEO told him the way to avoid prison was to stop selling pot from the contacts in Texas. He'd have to sell the pot that LEO supplied on a regular basis, keeping a list of the names and amounts of the individual transactions. As soon as some poor soul bought enough pot from what's his name, the law would bust them and seize all their assets.

To make a long one short, my coworker didn't cooperate with LEO. After his conviction, his entire assets (including two properties) were seized, totaling over $200,000. He didn't get the benefit of a reduced sentence and served 10 of 10 years for his crime. While in prison, he didn't benefit from a work/pay program (not available to the inmates at this prison) and owed $762.00 for some crap fine upon release. Even after serving 100% of his sentence he had to contact several family members to chip in and pay the fine before they'd release him. "To protect and to serve," their own interests!

One official explains the government knows that stopping drugs are futile.
