I was really hoping to try some California Orangebud, but the none of the beans I got in a deal sprouted. Got them from overseas, so I guess I deserve to get ripped...LMAO.

Oh well, the search for the orange flavored bud continues!

Peace.

Nice report! I have 3 Nirvana cali-o that are just over a month old from seed, growing outdoors. They are all very sativa looking. I am happy to see they clone easily!
keep it green!

Very first strain I ran indoors a few years back, was Cali-O. She's still a staple in my garden too. Got mine from nirvana as well. Always wondered about the makeup of this strain too...thanks for clearing it up. I kept her because I was so impressed with the gigantic cola at the top. If left untopped, she grows to the size of a baseball bat. Excellent strain IMHO and I will keep her forever. A few late nanners in bloom, but at least I know why now. Just like described, a zone out buzz in the head and nice body feelings as well...without getting all jittery. Above average yields as well. It's good to shine the light on some of these forgotten strains. Because there are other strains out there kiddies besides OGKush.

maybe orange bud is orange flavored, but it is a skunk not a cali-o

try seedbay or seedboutique.
dutch passion has cali-o and some others
gypsy has citrocity, a cali-o, on the weekend special for 25 or 30 bucks.
i ordered mine last friday and it shipped out today.

I think citrocity is cali-o hybrid, it is good with a nice yield. I had a pheno that tasted like peaches. Very tasty smoke. In my opinion the high is definitely on the sativa end of the spectrum. It is worth the money.

I hope you guys got the space for this monster if you grow indoors! She was
over 8 feet tall at early harvest.

I had a fat cola with just a 250. I think she would do excellent outdoors. I got a few outside so we will see the outcome.

that would be so cool,
prblem now is that my citrocity has not arrived.
too bad, but all other orders from sb have made it. maybe it'll still make it.

She was topped once and supercropped twice. I cant imagine how big she would have been without the training. Anyway, the moral is that Nirvana's Cali Orange has some heavy sativa leaning phenos so be prepared if you want to grow her.

I'm thinking of growing Cali-O 12/12 from seed in a 39"x"39"x78" Hydrohut "mini"(my second grow)... In soil with 400W HPS

Question for guys who have grown Cali-O.

How many seeds would you start if you were me? Yield is important, I'd like to get 8oz minimum if possible. However, healthy plants is my first priority.

Thanks

I would start a whole pack. Cull the males, and sort through the phenos. I kept the one that was like 60/40 sat/indica. Some nice stretch, but nothing uncontrollable. I start flower at about 18 inches, and final height is around 4 foot, and close to 3 oz. most times. But that is in DWC. So take clones, and flower 4-6 plants in your hydro hut. You should have plenty of nice smoke.

Someone crossing a SourSaver = SDL x LifeSaver and then crossing it with Cali-O will have a fruity orange semi diesel long lasting stone strain

Actually, you would have one hell of a long flowering sativa dominant gigantic bitch! But that might not necessarily be a bad thing.

I liked it so much I'm going to run it again this year indoors and keep a mom. I'll flower out clones all winter. I got some outdoors but not guarenteed to a female. I only have two in the field. I liked the pheno I based the report on alot. I know there is a few more phenos in the mix and I'm pretty anxious to try some others. I want to see if that citrus taste gets stonger. My Cali-O took about 55 days to finish up, and I've read a few reports saying that she has a few phenos of some very sativa taking around 70+ days to flower. I wouldn't mind sampling a sativa dominant Cali-O.

i also got some of nirvana's cali-o recently & i cant wait to get them started
& find a good orange pheno to cross with some of my own crosses
and the other seeds shown.
