Without buying calibrated counterweights the lightest constant I know of is a 1 dollar bill........And yes a nickel is supposed ta be 5 grams too......

All that may be crap since the onset of electronic scales cuz these were used on balance beam scales as references ta go by.......But.....

Yes Brother Bear......All you haveta do is throw it on the scale and it should weigh 1 gram.........

Let us know if there are differences on your new scale........Peace......DHF.........

for a digi, the calibration weight may be 100g. the calibration weight depends on the model of scale. using a roll of nickels I was able to successfully calibrate a damaged digital in the past, 100g calibration on a 200g scale. Also have to press a special sequence of buttons on the scale to enter calibration mode.

wow your first post here, thanks for regestering just to answer my question :rasta:
LOL just kidding

the recomendation for my scale is 200g so i am buying that
i read that each scale is different and asks for a certian weight to calibrate correctly
i am taking a geuss that mine will be 200g :joint:

thanks again guys

excellent. a proper weight is more accurate than a stack of nickels, although nickels did work remarkably well for me. thanks for observing my first post. :)

My digital scale calibrates with a 2000 gram weight. So I guess every scale is different. If its important enough to weigh, I think its worth the $20 to get it right??
