most house hold appliances use more than 1000 watts, and if your not in an apartment and set up in a house you dont have anything to worry about under 4 kw i would say.
now as far as 600s vs 1000s, it depends on what kind of system you are looking to run, if you just want to put up some lights, throw some plants under em and arent planning on much ventilation than i would say go with 600s because they stay much cooler, and you can have them much closer to your plants without burning them or giving them heat stress.
if this is your first time growing than hydro might not be your best option... but at the same time if thats the way you want to grow than just do your research on ph levels and PPM and such and im sure you will do just fine.
with number of plants thats entirely up to you, if your doin hydro than i would figure you will probly not want to run a ton of buckets or whatever set up your looking to do, so i would say between 12-20 buckets and you can train your plants or use netting to create a canopy under your lights, anyways hope some of this is helpful and take it easy
Hey Dimebag thanks for all the useful info. I've done a one plant bagseed grow in a single bucket and i believe a 600w. My roommate at the time was way more into it.
We were able to get a good yield, but it was hay, mostly due to improper dry and cure.
And now that i've been paying high dispensary prices for the last 8 months, i thought maybe i'll give it a shot! I do love the topshelf at the dispenary's though....
what's up cali growers! I guess it's time I join in on the fun. Here's a few cali grown plants I finished within the last month or so. I have a 400w flower cab and a 250w closet. Gotta love CA.
Thanks guys! Hey squagglewapper, it seems I did hear somewhere on the news that a club in south lake tahoe was raided right after the election. Real bummer to hear. I'll probably be up there around the 14th, would have been nice to check it out.
thatguy123, honestly, I'm not sure how my TW girl ended up like that. I didn't top her, just flowered her kind of small. I was kind of wondering how she ended up like that too and figured it was probably just the way the light was hitting the plant when she was younger or just the strain. She's the first I've grown of this strain.
Norkali, the cut of trainwreck I have smells strong like a skunky lemon. To be honest I'm not sure what Eucalyptus smells like but now I'm curious. That Chemdog D looks spectacular! Did you get it at a club? I'd like to go get some nice clones at a club sometime but I think I need to get a card. I have a doctors recommendation but I live a far drive from any clubs so I haven't bothered with that yet. Sounds like it might be worth it though if they had some good cuts.
/\ It's definitely worth it, for sure. Yup, the Chemdawg is from a club, and thanks - I'm totally stoked about how they've come along so far. *knocks on wood*
I hope you get the chance to smell a eucalyptus tree sometime while you still have that Trainwreck - and hopefully you'll see what I mean! It took me years to put my finger on that smell...
for sure man they are so similar one of us was told the wrong name !!!!!!
ha ha gotta love california !!!!!!callin shit by two different names just to make a little $$$$ ,,,, i want to compare tastes cause the pics are the same
