I'm thinking that this peat-based medium was not sufficient to "buffer" the hot mix
from the bone and blood and so the little plants got burned.....the strong ones might
pull through while the weak ones will die....

theoretical grower? is that like SIMgrow?

:ying: kind regards from the guineapig :ying:

so you think i didn't have enough dom lime.... it was only 1tbl/ft3, i didn't put as much cus i was scard of it, lol... but after reading more :bat:, i shouldn't be cus it holds pH at 7.... ah well... i still think it's the chicken poo... i believe it was cannable, and ethereal that told me it sould be composed for a year, and that it burns their outdoor plants.... the brand is Epsoma

the kelp should be here by wendsday by the latest and transplant them to this mix 1/2tbl/gal blood, 1tbl/gal bone and kelp.... the mix i'm use to...then i'll through the chicken manure in the compost pile to break down all my damn grass clippings :sasmokin:.... how does that sound

How much lime should i add iv'e heard any where for 1-2tbl/gal,(not sure if thta's just for pro-mix) the mix is balanced out of the bag?

thanks guys

I think its more like smelling bad advice. I know he probably means well but sooner or later your going to cut and paste something [ passed off as knowledge ] that has no basis in the growing of marijuana and then someone else with vastly more experience than lets say a grower thats got zero practical experience is going to come along and call you out.

Imo I would rather have 24 kids with half a MJ grow under their belt giving out advice than one horticultural phd with zero experience growing MJ trying to do the same.

My personal opinion is that someone without any practical experience growing MJ should be as far from the cannabis infirmary giving out advice as possible until they have enough grow experience in which to become a service to those in question.

And if they cant do that then they need to be perfectly honest to those that they are giving advice to by starting every infirmary reply with " I have never grown a marijuana plant but heres my " opinion ".

Experience trumps education everytime. Ask any potential employer.

i just went to trans a satori to fresh soil with nothing added.... took a sample, of the affected soil, 100ml soil to 100ml distiled water and let it sit for 30-45min

seems as though i have two probs.. pH is 6.1 and the ec 1.46... so should i flush and add some dom lime to bring the pH up? or just trans to new soil

the progression of the burns has stoped, ya'll think the plants got use to the soil?

thanks,
bf

edit here's some new pics... they're a little more burt

Something in that mix is making them sick. Imo its probably the chicken poo. If your going to salvage them they need to get out of the mix. Im guessing they have progressively got worse since transplant?

Get them out of that mix now, wash the roots and get them in a decent lightly or unfertilized soil mix if you want to save them.

Did you let your original mix sit for a couple weeks before using it or did you just mix it up and transplant?

If you didn't let it sit for awhile that's your problem right there combined with the poop it's way too hot for your plants.
